Man Fatally Attacks Former Sister-in-Law in Mistaken Identity Stabbing

In a tragic case of mistaken identity, a Thai man fatally stabbed his former sister-in-law, believing her to be his ex-wife, in Ayutthaya province. The incident occurred on March 6 around 6.15am when Waraporn, 39, was attacked by 40-year-old Boonma by the roadside.

 

Phak Hai Police arrived at the scene to find Waraporn with 18 stab wounds. Despite efforts by rescue workers to save her, she succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. The attack transpired under a large tree where Waraporn awaited her company's welfare vehicle for work.

 

Jureeporn, Waraporn's sister, identified Boonma, her ex-husband, as the attacker. Boonma, recently released from prison, sought to rekindle his relationship with Jureeporn, who rejected his attempts and had moved on with a new partner. Boonma's jealousy reportedly grew from seeing pictures of Jureeporn with her boyfriend on social media.

 

 

Fearing that Jureeporn would not reconcile with him, Boonma planned the attack, targeting the location where he expected Jureeporn to be. Armed with scissors, he assaulted Waraporn, mistakenly believing he was attacking Jureeporn.

 

The police tracked Boonma down with assistance from his mother, who divulged his escape route. Upon capture, Boonma confessed to the attack but expressed shock upon realizing he had killed the wrong person.

 

Boonma is facing serious charges under Section 289(4) of the Criminal Code for premeditated murder, carrying a potential death penalty. The tragic event underscores the high cost of misdirected jealousy and unresolved emotions, leaving a family in mourning, reported The Thaiger.
