A motorcyclist was killed in a horrific crash after losing control and colliding with a road barrier before being struck by a passing lorry, which failed to stop.

The fatal crash occurred at 12:30 on March 10 on Highway 9 (Bang Pa-in – Bang Bua Thong), just before the bridge over the Chao Phraya River at kilometre marker 73 in Pho Taeng, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Police from Chang Yai Station, led by Police Lieutenant Teerawat Saradee, arrived at the scene along with rescue teams from the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Association.

The crash site was in a road construction zone. A yellow Yamaha GPX motorcycle, bearing a Bangkok registration plate, was found overturned in the right-hand lane. Nearby, the body of the deceased, a man estimated to be 40–45 years old, was discovered. He was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and black trousers, with severe head injuries and multiple fractures to his arms and legs. No identification documents were found on him.

A witness told police that the motorcyclist appeared to lose control and clipped a concrete road barrier, causing him to be thrown onto the road. A lorry travelling behind then ran over him before continuing without stopping.

Authorities have launched an investigation, examining skid marks and collision points at the scene. They are also reviewing witness statements and searching for additional evidence, including CCTV footage, to identify the lorry involved.
