Very much so and for reference:

Scraping opium resin off a seedpod in Myanmar’s remote poppy fields, displaced farmer Aung Hla describes the narcotic crop as his only prospect in a country made barren by conflict.........

So, not only Ya Ba flooding Thailand, now the possibility of opium resin and heroin - Thailand, the hub of "junkies"!

opium resin is no big deal, its just opium resin. Its niche. Fentalyl on the other hand is stupidly powerful, equally deadly, and a grain or two can make any drug a killer --  cocaine, mmda, ketamine, even weed. One extra grain and you are toast.

That makes it dangerous to all recreational drug users.

Why did report stating his love of football have anything to do with it? When I die, will obit say "Long time Beatles fan"? well, maybe

I actually wondered that myself. rather sad they couldn't come up with anything better.

calling him a human who had managed to breathe autonomously for 22 years or who brushed his teeth almost daily for 2 decades, seems less insulting

morphine toxicity my ass. our boy got some bonus fentanyl in his drug of choice.

Sadly sounds like it... I know a lad who died last year at the FullMoon party under very similar circumstances...

... A partier... so knew what he was doing, but something in something he took pushed him way over the edge - A tragic loss of a young life.

🤣🤣🤣Are you kidding? Do you think consuming morphine is lawful?😂. It doesn't come from heaven like manna🙏.

And yes, it is a crime.

The article is indeed very clear

it does come from medications... but also he may not have been aware of it in a drink....

I sometimes wonder how many times I cheated Death doing utterly stupid stuff as a "Young Man" back in the day.  Quite a few times actually.  I've often reflect back, "That should have killed me, yep that too, yeah, and that time as well."

Kid died doing stupid stuff.  It's a rite of passage.  As goes Rites of Passage of youth, not everyone manages to live through the process.

OD'ing on opioids?  Stupid.  Luck was not with you.  Better luck next time around.  RIP kid. 🪦

A tragic inquest has unveiled that Connor Abbott, a cherished 22-year-old football fan from Thirsk, North-East England, died from a drug overdose while vacationing in Thailand. Found in his Bangkok hotel room on September 22 last year, the cause of death was ruled as morphine toxicity by North Yorkshire Coroner's Court.

A GoFundMe page pays tribute to Connor, a devoted York City supporter, as a deeply loved son, brother, and friend, celebrated for his vibrant personality and ability to spread joy among those around him. "He was more than a friend – he was a source of laughter, happiness, and unforgettable memories," the tribute states.

In honour of Connor, York City fans organised a minute’s applause in the 23rd minute of their match against Eastleigh on September 28, reflecting the impact of his life on the community.

York manager Adam Hinshelwood conveyed the club's deepest condolences, emphasising their efforts in respecting Connor’s memory during this sombre time. Minstermen co-chairman Matt Uggla expressed his heartfelt sympathies, echoing the sentiments of the SC Block Reds supporters group, who recalled fond memories with Connor.

Despite these tributes, specific circumstances surrounding Abbott’s death remain undisclosed by his family or coroner Jon Heath. The inquest has been postponed, with a new date pending, leaving room for further investigation into this sorrowful incident that has touched many in the football community, reported The Thaiger.

"High on being a Toxic Bigot" is more accurate.

Your vapid post once again highlights your complete lack of class...  a lad died doing what many young and naïve travellers from all over the world do...  Your only comment is about his nationality, both toxic and deeply revealing of your own narrow-minded prejudices.

You could have used 5 words more.

Or you could just not let it ruin your beautiful day. Same like, not get upset and care so much.

At 22, what impact can this guy have had on his community?

A junkie on top of that. Ain't it funny that in death even criminals are painted as mr nice guy?

Maybe this kid was salt of the earth, but if he were he wouldn't have died of an OD here in thailand.

We have all been young, and most of us foolish to some degree or other. There are more than a few old timers on TV who have commented on these boards about the scrapes and escapades they got up to in their youth; their brushes with or even heavy association with drugs in their younger years.

We are all lucky that we made it this far - and luck definitely played a big part in my youth too. Many of us could probably look at this and think 'there but for the grace of god go I'.

You do know, don't you, that you can sympathise without condoning his behaviour? He made a fatal mistake - is your heart so hard that your first response is one of scornful contempt?

A shameful, disgusting comment. You know nothing about him or his background, the events that led to him making the choices he made or the circumstances of his taking whatever ended his life.

What a senseless comment.

Nobody is forced to take drugs. It's all voluntarily. There are no "circumstances", just stupidity only.👍

I don't disagree with any of that. Like many, many people, I dabbled with illegal drugs in my youth. Like most, I was fortunate to come through that phase with no lasting effects. But according to your earlier post, I deserved to die. I stand by my earlier comment - your post was shameful and disgusting.

Mine might say "he told us he was sick!!".

Or like the New Yorker cartoon where the horrified pall bearer says:

"He kept saying his feet were killing him."

Hard to believe young men throw away their lives just for a fix.

Why is it so hard to beieve? Young men, particularly, engage in high risk behavior. Fact. Totally normal.

Didn't you?

Some say it is a vital part of becoming a man.
