  • Left? The Senate is fulfilling its duty to review legislation and to propose amendments  where needed. What's your problem here? You didn't have a problem when the GOP blocked spending bills over

  • No, it’s about the left’s pathetic failure to snap out of it and get with the program.

  • The Dems just want to crash the economy.    https://www.pgpf.org/article/four-reasons-why-a-government-shutdown-is-harmful/   They do they hate America.

No, it's about politics.  Did the right "get with" Biden's program in 2021?   The lefts role is to oppose.

The lefties used to say that shutting down the government is terrorism.   What changed?

They're not in government any more.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) referred to the government shutdown strategy as “a form of legislative terrorism”

LOL

The Dems want to win the mid-terms and the presidency in 2028.  Of course, whether this will help them remains to be seen.

As I've read (repeatedly) on here, elections-have-consequences.

And so does the election in not having 60 Republican votes in the Senate.

They used to love Teslas, now they engage in violent campaign of criminal arson terrorism against Tesla and Americans organized by Soros dark money.

They dont realize which way the wind is blowing. Shut down the government, watch their numbers drop even more.

I seem to recall that under the previous democrat governments, a few government shut-downs were only averted at the very last minute, some even resulted in an effective shutdown, because of opposition by the republicans.

What changed?

"President Trump must stop holding the American people hostage, must stop manufacturing a crisis and must reopen the government."

Chuck Schumer.

Who is trying to hold the American people hostage?   Chuck Schumer and the dems?

Yes, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) referred to the government shutdown strategy as “a form of legislative terrorism”

The Dems are looking to enact terror on the people of the USA.

You seem to have a faulty memory, if you can't even remember my post from 15 minutes ago.

Democrats have been held hostage by the republicans many times, as shown in my screenshot

By then, maybe all they will need to run on is that they aren't Trump

You do have a faulty memory.  The Dems used to claim government shut downs were the end of civilization.

Democrats reached    bipatisan agreements, only to see Trump sabotage the  agreements. In this case there has been no attempt made to reach a consensus or to address the concerns raised by multiple senators.

Nah....

I love the Dems hypocrisy.

Politically speaking, Schumer's reversal makes sense. If the Democrats had stopped the bill, not only would the shutdown have supercharged Trump's war on the Federal government, but it would have provided Republicans cover for the damage that their program will do to the American economy. Now, the ensuing disaster will belong entirely to the Republicans.

Looks like he took your criticism to heart. Thanks for helping the Democrats avoid a serious misstep.

The late former Secretary of State Colin Powell famously said:

“You break it, you're going to own it”

That has now morphed into:

We own it. We can break it.

Given that this is a party that enthusiastically endorses conspiracy theories, when it breaks the Republicans will come up with some conspiratorial theory about why it's rather the fault of the Deep State or similar sinister agents. Or they will shoot the messenger. By that, I mean that they will eviscerate the BLS and Fed economic reports by claiming that they are lying. Musk, not surprisingly, has previously alleged this.

I guess the latter course actually encompasses conspiratorial thinking as well.
