In a troubling event this morning, nine police officers protecting teachers in Mae Lan district, Pattani province, were injured by a roadside bomb blast. The explosion occurred shortly before 9am between villages Moo 1 and Moo 2 in tambon Muang Tia, as confirmed by Pol Capt Nathee Meesuksri of the Mae Lan station. Quick to respond, police discovered that all officers sustained injuries, with Pol Cpl Sahasawat Phonsang suffering a particularly serious eye injury and being transferred to Pattani Hospital for further treatment.
