Thailand Yet to Finalise Policy on Taxing Expats’ Overseas Income
There seems to be a lot of opinion that nothing will happen. But the banks are now starting to ask for tax ID to satisfy CRS. ITs taken two years. Slow, yes. In uk it took about one year. One step at a time. For those who think the TRD will not get their act together, then things may prove to be a but quicker than some expect. There was a seminar in hua hin recently to discuss the tax issues with the TRD. See attached FYI. some points to note , but still questions yet to be answered. From the reports we see, its clear that many jurisdictions do not Understand what is started, however it may slowly become more consistent. Many people will hope it does not happen too quickly. -

Chinese ‘Invasion Barges’ Raise Fears of Taiwan Assault
Borders don’t exist in a vacuum, global instability can boomerang back to the U.S. If Trump’s inward focus lets Russia solidify gains in Ukraine or China move on Taiwan, it could reshape the world order in ways that hit home. A stronger Russia might embolden adversaries closer to U.S. shores, like in Latin America, where China’s already expanding influence. Taiwan’s fall could choke the global supply of advanced semiconductors—90% of which come from there—crashing the U.S. economy and military tech edge. Ignoring these dominoes risks trading short-term border security for long-term vulnerabilities. -

Man, 48, Drowns in Wastewater Pond Rescuing Pet Dog
Its also tragic that so many drown in such pond when solutions are so overwhelmingly simple... Due to the steep and slippery sides they're impossible to climb out off... With just a little forethought, a simple rope on a couple of the sides would resolve this issue and potentially save so many lives.. Even a bamboo ladder fixed to the side... How much extra effort with that really take ? the issue of course a complete absense of forethought towards safety. Perhaps those who 'own' such ponds should be held accountable for at least providing some basic safety equipment - a rope across the centre, and ladders at two sides - force people (owners) into taking responsibility. The true tragedy of course is the amount of kids to drown in ponds in Thailand (with drowning being the leading cause of death in those under 16 yrs old). -
