Ok if I have to.

Lamb, cows and pork are raised in Australia by farmers and are killed humanely and used for human consumption.

Kangaroos are a wild animals and only 3% is used for food.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I would prefer if kangaroos were not culled, but there is a legitimate reason for it. The roos  destroy sensitive ecosystems when they overpopulate, endangering more fragile animals, birds and reptiles.  They also risk starvation and disease. They no longer have natural predators.

Influencer? Who do these people influence? Coming to Thailand? Try taking a monkey away from its mother. That would make a very interesting video. Meanwhile hundreds of men, women and children are being killed every day and people are getting their arses in their hands about a wombat.

"Influencer"/"digital creator"/"content creator" = self cenetred loser with no identifiable skills or any particular value to the human race.

The ironic situation in oz is that on their coat of arms they feature two animals both of whom can be culled and consumed. I think that would be unique.

To the contributor who highlighted the reference to the vote held to see wether Aust. would become a republic. This was totally basterdised by an Aust. PM who was a royalist and included in the proposed legislation that the Aust MP's would choose the Aust President and that was unacceptable to the aussie voter and why Aust. today is still in the commonwealth. Unfortunate.

Emus are generally a protected species in Australia, although there may be some culling in areas where they damage crops. Emu burgers are very tasty.

There was a program to try to eradicate them in WA, using the army in 1932. It was a dismal failure for several reasons. It became known as the Emu War.

Given it was led by an obviously British Major Gwynydd Purves Wynne-Aubrey Meredith, hardly surprising.

Completely agree with your second para. That little turd put Australia into a war despite his own intelligence service saying there were no weapons of mass destruction, just to suck up to Bush.

Every so often someone tries to "rescue" baby bears at Yellowstone National Park in the USA.  Usually not a good ending.   Their policy:

Never approach wildlifeAlways stay at least 100 yards (91 m) away from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards (23 m) away from all other animals, including bison and elk.

That is what they say.

but the real reason is farmers don’t want them eating the grass.

Kangaroos have been in Australia for 40 million years.
Everything was coping nicely until the convicts showed up.

The general kangaroo population is quite stable. Tree kangaroos are endangered due to loss of habitat.

Wolves in Britain died out in the 1800's. I guess they were not cuddly enough for you guys.

It is. There was a natural balance of predator and prey.

Dingoes hunt to survive. Wild dogs hunt in packs, for the thrill of killing.

You think Labradors are nice cuddly creatures? They are the absolute worst in the wild, with a flock of sheep. Every station owner or hunter will shoot them on sight.

So the Brits didn’t introduce the dogs as you were claiming.
99% of kangaroo meat is not used for pet food as you claimed.

And kangaroos are not shot to save themselves, they are killed to save grazing grass for sheep and cattle as you claimed.

The dingo is a dog native to Australia.

Other breeds were introduced by settlers. Scottish deerhounds and German shepherds. pit bulls and maramas.

Do you have a problem reading posts in your mother tongue?

No, you said the convicts introduced dogs to Australia.

About as factual as your other claims.

Kangaroo fur is the most durable in the world.

Hmm. Yanky beavers and otters might have something to say about that! Typical Aussies... it's always 'the best, biggest, fastest etc with that lot. 😛

Fair play, though, that woman was a bit of a wombat. Why does she have to come here, enough idiots already.

An American woman's ill-considered social media post involving a wombat joey has stirred a frenzy in Australia, ultimately sending her fleeing to Thailand amidst a whirlwind of backlash. The incident, initially shared on TikTok by the woman, Samantha Strable, showcased her attempting to capture a wombat joey, sparking immediate outrage from Australian wildlife enthusiasts and beyond.

In the video, Strable's boyfriend, Louis Sixt, can be seen laughing as the mother wombat frantically chased after them, accentuating the distress of the mother in the encounter. Renowned Melbourne influencer Anthony Voulgaris sharply criticised Strable in front of his half a million followers, igniting a fervent online discourse. He labeled their actions as disdainful and reiterated the importance of respecting wildlife, exclaiming, "This isn't a mistake. You're being a terrible person."

The viral video has prompted thousands of comments, with many viewers expressing empathy for the distressed wombat. Others, however, argue that while the handling of wildlife was improper, the torrent of abuse Strable encountered was disproportionate. Amidst the uproar, Strable maintains her innocence, insisting the joey was unharmed and promptly returned to its mother.

This incident continues to fuel discussions about wildlife preservation and social media's power to ignite social outrage. As Strable grapples with the fallouts of her actions, the event reminds global audiences of the ongoing challenges in balancing human curiosity with the respect and protection of wildlife, reported The Thaiger.

Possibly. The shave test would determine who came out on top.

I had two Recaro car seats upholstered in kangaroo fur, very comfortable. Say goodbye to sweat sticking the back of my shirt to me when driving.

A guy who ran a knife sharpening business phoned me asking for the fur trimmings, even offered to pay for them. He said the best test for any blade was kangaroo fur.

I declined payment, so he sharpened three of my Opinel knives for free. He put an edge on them I have never achieved since.
