King Chula Postponed Surgery

I am wondering what to think about this. King Chula keeps playing a shell game with my surgery. They tried moving it up first and now they postponed it by 4 days, a week out. Yes one week out.  The long and short of it is I could be put into an emergency situation as I have waited 6 months already for hernia surgery there. A hernia that has grown a lot. My fear is they are going to postpone again. I just lost out on money for the hotel reservations and will miss more income from work.  Is this standard operating procedure for them? There is absolutely no customer service included either. Thoughts?

Very common in government hospitals. OR space is at a premium and emergency procedures will often lead to elective ones being rescheduled. 

 

Much less frequent (but can still happen) at ptivate hospitals but cost of course is higher.

Sheryl -thanks for the quick insight. I think moving forward I'll use private hospitals for the quicker turnaround. The waiting game is long and nerve-wracking, then you still have to get through recovery.
