is it possible to get a 60days visa from Thai embassy in Laos ?

as per above question . is it possible ? or should i just do a border run for 60 days extension : ?

It's possible but you'll have to come to Laos and apply for an e-visa while in the country.  Then go to the embassy and pay for it then wait until they issue the visa which will not likely happen overnight. 

 

A border run for a new entry (it's not an extension) might be better but to Laos you may still need to stay 2 nights in the country, not the worst thing you could do tbh.

Possibly but not definitely. It's been happening more often lately. If you can find an "agent" to handle everything you can avoid it.

You are asking about obtaining a SETV e-Visa in Laos to obtain a 60 day stamp! 

That would be crazy.

Where are you located?

You would do a border run using a minivan agent company.

Recently reports from very safe crossings such as Nong Khai requiring 1-2 night stay.

I will be entering laos from nongkhai , I dont know what is SETV lol i just need to have a 60 day extension

Read your own thread title. 

You ask about obtaining a 60 day VISA from Thai Embassy.

That equates to tourist visa.

What you actually are asking about is border bounce for 60 day visa exempt stamp.

And now you refer to 60 day extension.

You are not obtaining an extension.

You are obtaining a 60 day visa exempt entry.

No stated limit to border runs however immigration can start to make it difficult as illustrated in post above requiring various requirements.

I am considering both options but if getting a 60 day visa is too much trouble I will get the visa exempt entry  .  i pardon me i dont reallly know the terms

Both options provide a 60 day stamp.

Obtaining an e-Visa (tourist) may take days and for what advantage.

Do the border bounce.

Look at the text on the picture attached. Other agencies providing visa runs from CMai=>Chiang Kong => Friendship Bridge also mention that visa-runners must have outbound flight tickets

Have not seen one report of that being enforced.

If it is then step away and book rent a ticket here "onward ticket.com"

I've seen many people mention it being enforced.  Mostly at Chiang Khong.
