Meaningless!  Who gives a flying <deleted> about free speech?

I'd rather live somewhere with decent schools, hospitals etc, and where I can get on with my life without the state poking its nose in....

Most people don't give a damn about free speech, (unless you're into politics).  Give me China or Laos any day over the UK/USA/Australia. (excluding the crap hospitals in Laos!!)

Didn't the Laotian government poke their heads into your hobby radio thing. To the point you had to leave. Would there be an issue in Australia. Of course not.

Maybe....

But,, might what I learn from your Topics be of value to me?

Only YOU might know....

Yes....I say NO!

No, No, NO!

I will not learn much of value to me, and....

On the contrary, if you read MY Topics...

No they did not - they fully supported me. A local police guy poked his nose in.  The government department told him to butt out.

Thailand has less freedom? 55555

Buy beer in 7/11

Buy drugs over the counter

Drive or ride without a licence

Buy pot in shops

Buy bargirls

You, maybe?, and many others, drive without a license here because they don't care to enforce their own laws. This isn't about freedom but a lack of care for it's citizens. many things here allowed because someone is getting a bribe for them. Look back at the many protests that have taken place and how many were killed trying to get changes. Tak Bai, 1976, a military run government where people have no say, someone elected into office and another replaces him after he won the majority of the votes, February 18, 2014, May 17-20 1992, 2010 crackdown where 6 died, these and others aren't what happens when freedom is in place and don't happen in the west...............https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020–2021_Thai_protests.

More freedom means less laws.

Laws are there to protect others. No laws and more people do whatever they want, victimizing others while the police look the other way because of bribes. Freedom means you can elect whoever you want, majority winning, and they'll take office and hopefully help the public. Freedom means you can trash talk anyone, as long as you don't threaten them, with no repercussions, meaning your opinion is heard and you're not shot or disappear for it. Freedom means you can protest in public with no one shooting at you or firing water cannons to disperse you to shut you up.

Laws are there due to stupidity. If everyone was nice don't need laws.

Human nature has people with free will , to do whatever they want. laws are there so people are protected from people who think they can hurt others and get away with it. If there were no laws, you might not be here if you have any enemies. People, meaning all, have two sides, a good and a bad, and most waver somewhere in between. Some are plain evil, being raised in an abusive and or neglected environment, where all they saw was pain, and now it's their turn to inflict pain on others, because they can't get back on those who taught it in the first place. Some, very few, are born with an genetic predisposition to be anti social, and this, along with a bad environment, has them being anti social. Many are raised to be empathic, wanting to help others and these are the targets for the anti social. It's impossible for everyone to jsut be nice, as we all come from different family backgrounds, and for some it was hectic since birth.

50 laws is enough. We don't need 5,000.

Every country has different laws. Do you have a specific list?

I think the laws are necessary. You thought we didn't need 5000. Tell me which ones you think are not needed to bolster your statement.

Anywhere. You quickly stated we don't need 5000 laws. I'm asking for you to tell which specific laws are unnecessary anywhere.Since this is about comparing Thailand to the US, where you said had less freedom, start with the US.

You said we don't need 5000 laws, so you must know at least some we don't need. It's called backing up your argument.

How can I eliminate laws without a list? If I don't know what's in the fridge I don't know what foods to add to shopping list.

You said we don't need 5000 laws, so how would you know what laws are unnecessary if you don't know the laws in the first place? I made it easy for you, since I know you like Wikipedia. You can't dispute this,m as these laws are actually on the books. There are quite a few here, so you can spend a few hours seeing what laws are in effect and come back later and tell us which you feel are unnecessary............https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_federal_legislation

Very vague link. No specific laws listed.

Your opinion doesn't mean anything, as these laws are passed whether you like it or not. You stated we don't need 5000 laws. All I asked is for you to tell us which laws you deem unnecessary.  If you don't care, then you shouldn't make such a statement because any argument needs backing. You said the US has much less freedom than Thailand, which is a falsehood. This is a suppressed country.

Why is the US ranked no 1 for most laws then?

Neither do you.

I never said we didn't need 5000 laws. I said we need laws, and you said we didn't. Most laws would never affect me so I wouldn't dare to make an opinion on them. You also said 50 laws are enough. What are those? At least tell us one law that's there you know of that's unnecessary.
