Hey all,

I'm heading away for a while and have been trying to sell my two beautiful, well-maintained Benelli motorcycles (naked 300 and TRK 502 tourer) in Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much interest so far, so I’ll probably put them into storage until I return. I’ll either try selling them again at the start of next high season or consider part-exchanging them when I upgrade to a new bike.

Before I do that, though, does anyone know of any better places to attract attention than Facebook Marketplace or Baht & Sold? I’m guessing not, but it never hurts to ask, just in case.

Cheers,

Stubby

How are the Benelli's for  parts and servicing ?

There's an Official Benelli showroom and maintenance garage here in Chiang Mai and other parts of Thailand. As the warrantees have expired, I tend to have both my bikes serviced at Piston Shop every 6,000km or 6 months, whichever comes first. Piston Shop is cheaper, and its mechanics have a lot of experience working on popular bikes.

I think original spare parts are ordered from Singapore if they're not in stock locally.

Thanks, good to hear that there are spares available.

I think some of your trouble selling them  maybe due to the perception of  no one will have spares or the knowledge to work on them + price (Lamborghini )

Honda, Yamaha,Kawasaki and Suzuki  are the favored names.

You're partly right, John. But Benelli is becoming more popular in Thailand now. Benelli is also cheaper than the Japanese bikes, which is one of the main attractions. They're also something different from the usual Honda CBR250s, Kawasaki Ninja 300s and Yamaha YZF-R3.

Well I'm surprised at that  I thought Thailand still imposed tariffs on imported bikes ?   The Japanese manufactures have plants in Thailand so I would have thought cheaper...though I did hear that Suzuki was leaving.

A few years ago these were "all the rage"  for a while, cheap as well.

I might be wrong, John, but Benelli Keeway Thailand most probably assembles the bikes here, keeping prices low. Moreover, the new Benelli is a blend of Italian heritage and Chinese ownership. That simply means the design, development, and marketing activities are still under control of Benelli QJ headquarters in Pesaro, Italy.

Benelli Keeway Thailand

Ok makes sense  now

"Keeway" does not have a good reputation  unfortunately.

Chinese involvement so no/low tariffs  same with EV cars.

Interesting  so spare parts should be no problem.

302s  look quite nice.
