Absolutely. Endless spamming of this site with pointless drivel threads.

Something should be done.

OK, what do you suggest.....replier of endless drivel?

Yea, I'm having a hard time even bothering any more, and find the forum is starting to be more boring than doing nothing at all.

Sitting on the sofa with the dog, looking out at the bird & squirrels is more intellectually stimulating :cheesy:

One utterly, stupid and ridiculous thread after another.  I'm actually up to, now, 85, people on my ignore list.

If not a silly thread to start, it gets ruined with 10 post by some deranged person.

I'm off, think I'll just lay here and listen to the dog snore 😎

The idiocy of the Trump Tariff Tax is epic!

I heard a great suggestion about this.

Retailers should include how much is the Trump Tariff Tax on all items.

Americans -- stock up on on the old prices quickly!

"I don't know."

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent replying to a question about how these tariffs will affect the prices Americans pay for goods.

On the plus side I did get my Social Security deposit last night.

Very well said.

It has become a mess.

Hard to find something relevant.

I just spent less than 1 hour on the internet, non forum & scrolling through 8 hrs of the forum, probably spent more time adding about 10 hate spewing members to my 'list', than actual reading any threads.

The 2 or 3 threads I did read, had more hate toward Thais, Tesla, Trump & strangely Melania than intelligent replies.

Just finished 1st cup of coffee, and remember days when I'd respond to 10 threads before even starting my 2nd cup.

I know post counts & traffic is important, but if sponsors ever read the forum, Holy Buddha, one would wonder if they really want some of them as customers :coffee1:

Maybe as an online shop customer, but certainly wouldn't want them in my bar or restaurant, if owning.

Well to the above, not much any American Thai-expat can do right now -- so I'll go again with the Willie Nelson ad-libbed line from 'Electric Horseman':

"I know what I'm gonna do -- I'm gonna get me a bottle of tequila and find me one of them Keno girls that can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch and just kinda kick back,"

Yah, same here.

I think the best thing would be if they create a separate category "Leftie Trump Doomsday Drivel", and simply bundle all these obvious misrepresentation and lie dripping political propaganda threads in there. That way you don't mistake them for real threads.

Or make the 'political soapbox' thread an option you have to choose to view, instead of opening as default when coming in on the 'new content' page.

As it's filled with nothing by hate.   That would eliminate a good part of the drivel.

At least with the news forum, if title interest you, (and not too far left) you can read the OP, before the hate is brought into the thread.

Seems to me, with the high-volume posters, you can see the name and pretty much tell in advance whether this will be an "orange man bad" or "orange man a divine gift" type post.

Well, that's true, but you still want to give the benefit of the doubt, even to someone whom you don't agree with politically, to see if they made a good argument and then potentially debate the issue intelligently. But sadly, a lot of these "Orange man cause end of world" threads are basically too far out there with the hate. It's impossible to even take these threads seriously. I mean look at the title of this one.

Here's an example of a typical news thread (of all things) for me.  One I actually thought worth a read.  Of the 54 replies, 23 were or are now on my 'list'.

That's just sad.  Not counting the silly comments, or counter replies to the trolls 🙄

I have no one on the ignore list even if I disagree with just about everything they write. Or in the words of Mary McCarthy about Lillian Hellman:

"every word she writes is a lie, including 'and' and 'the'."
