My last topic before I have to join this God awful wedding in the sweltering heat..

Why on earth should the USA be friendly towards Thailand in 2025?

They aren't a democracy, they let the Russians in unfettered on 90 day visa exemptions whilst the west has banned them for their illegal invasion of Ukraine, they are corrupt to the hilt and treat farangs like criminals when living here.. 90 day reports, house inspections, bla bla bla...

What makes Thailand think they aren't deserving of the 36% tariff that was just imposed? If I were Donald I would have gone for 40%.

Stuff em. Can't wait to get back to Kobe.

Its just because thailand is so irrelevant that theyve been able to stay under the radar for so long. And the US loves them ladyboys..

Did you see what Thailand actually charges the US ?

Frankly they deserve what they got and it should've been doubled !

I mean when I look at California wines at Rimping I realize the tariff is probably higher than 30% and  why is Trump or whoever decided on these rates so hard on Asean? Even our "friend" Vietnam has been hit hard (40%).

You forgot they are a BRICS partner country now, cozy up to the Chinese always, but during the VN war, allowed US to base troops on Thailand and the rest are sorta like most other countries. IMHO

If it all kicks off, the US will have a friend in Asia. They don't have too many. Not as many as China.
