Unfortunately they were fencing "foil", so that would have been out of the target scoring area, if however they had been fencing epee, or sabre, that would have been allowed. I used to fence, I once got through to the final round of the British Army competition (more by good luck than good judgement - my Regiments team had a couple of very good fencers, I wasn't one). I was drawn against a tall languid sort of chap who was in the running for the UK Olympic Squad - shortest bout ever but I did get praise for trying from the judges! It is certainly not a sport for "Nancies"! But a woman against a man is always going to be an unfair match. 3

I don't agree with your assertion that women have less 'talent'. Men have more power to apply their talents. Intersting post. In some sports, having power, having stamina, having quick reflexes; etc is a good thing. Others require other attributes. Chess for example. Snooker. Darts. Poker. Horse riding. All need different skills.

Once the sport loses enough income and sponsors, then it will return to a 'women's sporting event'. Not a "Uni sex event". Kudos to the gal for standing up for what is 'right'. Sucks all those years of practice & competing fairly wasted now. Exactly. If every woman did this it would stop overnight. Trouble is we have the Megan Rapinoe's of this world letting the side down. 1
Cryingdick Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The whole take a knee thing is a bit contrived. She knew doing that would get her on the news show circuit. If she is lucky she can turn this into a career like Riley Gaines. I don't find it all that 'courageous". Now what would be courageous is fencing a dude. 1 1

Isn't agility more important in a sport like fencing? 1

It isn't Superman vs. Wonder woman. So you think agility is really going to matter when a dude stands 6'2" and the woman is 5'8" and the man has a wingspan much larger than hers. I also don't think a woman is more agile. Watch couples in figure skating I don't think you can make a case for that. 1 1

But from the sporting angle, a male gold medal winner competing with women is pathetic and reinforces his failure to be a man. 1 1

Packer Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Was definitely unfair. One of the women could have gotten a 9 inch erection then it would be 2 swords against 1. 1

I’m sure she would be happy to fence the gay guy in a non official match probably kick HIS ass…..this whole sports debacle is ridiculous in my opinion in official match birth gender determines what sex you compete with all stop.🛑 now as far as equality under the law on rights healthcare and the rest I’m 100% in favor of equality. 1

It may be years before this idiot phase is relegated to the bins of stupid history. In the meantime, the XX women lose their scholarship opportunities... Yes You are right. If only one female athlete are refusing compete againist a male, they can smash her carrier. But, all female athletes are refusing compete againist male, the sport organisations would be enforced tó give up, their mindless gender policies. Imagine, on this fencing events, all females refusing compete, this male competitor stay alone, the event would be cancelled.
