Trump has already won twice. His life is set. He can also pardon himself if need be like Biden.

The left lost.

Are you claiming Trump lied?

President Trump on Wednesday repeatedly suggested it was a mistake that former President Biden did not preemptively pardon himself before leaving office.

Live updates: Iran declares Strait of Hormuz 'completely open';

Trump says U.S. blockade 'will remain in full force' until peace deal

Updated April 18, 2026, 1:29 AM EDT

So it isn't fully open in&out Iran ports.

Someone is winning bigly

https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/traders-place-760-million-bet-falling-oil-ahead-hormuz-announcement-2026-04-17/

  1. Between 1224 GMT and 1225 GMT investors sold a combined 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures , according to LSEG data.

  2. Based on the price at the time, these trades were worth about $760 million.

  3. At 1245 GMT, Iran's foreign minister posted on X that passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz was declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, in line with the ceasefire in ‌Lebanon.

  4. The announcement pushed crude down as much as 11% on the day in the minutes that followed.

  5. Reuters reported that on April 7 that bets worth around $950 million took place just hours ahead of the U.S. and Iran announcing a two-week ceasefire. On March 23, investors sold $500 million in 15 minutes before U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that he would delay attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure, triggering a 15% drop in the crude price.

  6. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating a series of oil futures trades, including those on March 23 and April 7, that were placed shortly before major policy shifts by Trump related to the war in Iran, a person familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

Awkward stance.

Not quite so clear cut if you had bothered to use the filters. During the height of the conflict, the Straits looked "busy", because all those dhows, fishing boats, ferries were still moving around. Strip out all ships except tankers and cargo ship, strip out those at anchor, and its more clear. And then when you look at where those ships are heading; overwhelmingly China, then India and Pakistan. One tanker heading for Suez right now (17:30 Thai, 4-18-26). And check the routings, nearly all crammed into the ad hoc channel dictated by Iran.

Currently, about 6-12 tankers a day are leaving the Gulf. Pre-war, typically 20-25.

Not "busy, busy, busy".

A lot busier than 'closed' ... It's not like leaving the mall @ 3-4-5 pm on the weekend. Takes a while to get the operation back on track.

Even on 'normal days' the navigable part of the straits is kind of thin. These things don't turn on a dime.

Pretty much not now:

Iran reimposes restrictions on Strait of Hormuz, warns it will continue to block transit

Iran announced it is reimposing restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, reversing its decision to reopen the waterway after President Donald Trump said the move would not end the blockade, according to The Associated Press.

Iran's joint military command said Saturday that “control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state ... under strict management and control of the armed forces," adding that the restrictions will not be lifted as long as the U.S. continues to block Iranian ports.

The announcement comes a few hours after Trump said the blockade "will remain in full force" until a deal is reached between Tehran and the U.S.

Fox News ... turning conservative are you ?

When IR start firing on ships, I might believe they plan on trying to close it again. Not the best way to honor a cease fire, and why they can never be trusted.

More like "even Fox News..." And for a change, the bad news for Trump was actually posted on top of their landing page.

Blockading is an act of war. So who is not to be trusted?

Give or take a Kilometre the Straits of Hormuz and the Dover Straits are nearly the same width at their narrowest points!

Not sure what Dover straits has to do with anything. But your reading comprehension or sheer ignorance is amazing.

I even pointed out 'navigable'. Google is your friend.

Well, obviously they have started firing on ships. Neither side can be trusted. The US, at the very least, is guilty of perfidy (it continued with actions during negotiations). The way its going, a NATO-ASEAN flotilla, minus US involvement (as it starts a process to disengage from the Western liberal democracies) may end upbeing a peacekeeping force authorised by the United Nations.

Iran's joint military command said on Saturday that control of the Strait of Hormuz has "returned to its previous state... under strict management and control of the armed forces".

It warned that it would continue to block passage through the strait as long as the US blockade of Iranian ports remained in effect.

Two gunboats from Iran's Revolutionary Guard opened fire on a tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the British military's United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center said. It said the tanker and crew are safe but did not identify the vessel.

I suggest that you use "google" and study some nautical charts of both straits. Their "navigable" widths are nearly identical with no "thin" bits!

PS: Why do you accuse people you have never met of being ignorant!

It costs nothing to be civil.

Just keeps getting better>
Not to mention the multi billion dollar sale to Japan

Just goes to show 47 years of the same old same old. Authoritarians regimes can't be trusted ,especially when they are on their way out. It reminds me of Hitler wanting to blow Germany up in the final weeks of his War on Jews & humanity.

Here you go, as you're apparently too lazy or stupid to learn things, even when pointed out to you. Does explain quite a bit with so many members.

Narrow = Thin in my dictionary.

I said that you should look at a nautical chart which is accurate. The AI crap is talking about the TSS which are just lines drawn on a chart and are not in the deepedt part of the straits!

If you bother to look at the safe channels declared earlier by IRAN they are all to the north and close to Iran and NOT near the TSS which is largely in Omani waters.

But, but, but China controls the market !!!!

Whatever shall we do, oh Lard, help us. 😂
