And this is where they ALL stuff up.

7 billion and 3 billion in TARIFFS?

Good on Trump to try and get rid of the deficit (if that's what this all is about).

Just trade on your merits.

10 billion in tariffs. ?????

These big companies, unions and politicians influence the law in their favour. Just try a bit harder and ban all tariffs.

It's all BS and a RESET is needed.

A reset was proposed. It was called the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Some studies estimated that TITP would boost the EU and US GDPs by up to 2%.

Trump scuppered TTIP during his first term.

Look at all the euros getting upset at you. Priceless

I was wondering what was the point of Trump's tariff 'strategy': So it is to cheese off the Europeans. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Anyway, I think that it's fair to say 'Job done'. The 'strategy' has also cheesed off the rest of the world as well for good measure. Oh, and caused turmoil on the world's financial markets - including the US's - and concern amongst multinational companies, many (most?) of whom are American. The 'benefits' are seemingly endless.

So that's what success looks like!

sure the EU will dispute that amount as he has no proof of anything, the same BS he played with the USA giving 350 billion to Ukraine and so many more like that, he just throw out any number that comes into his small senile brain and when confronted with it he will claim that he was being sarcastic, what a jerk

"350" comes up a lot. £350 million per week was the number the NHS would get following Brexit. Of course it didn't.

350ppm CO2 is apparently the atmosheric threshold, above which life on earth changes fundementally.

350.org is a climate change pressure group.

350 is an "Angel Number" among the God Botherers/Holy Joes.

Obviously Lizard People code.

There is no way Its a one man Trump show no matter how myopic people here wish to pretend it is, thats not how making new monetary policy going forward is done. You can bet dropping Tariffs on everyone yet within  a few days freezing them again is not a mistake but more like adjusting to market pressures, but things are far from over.

Markets can be fickle and the bond market tanked along with stocks which is unusual. The US has 6 trillion to roll over this year and badly needs a weaker interest rate and or a weaker dollar.. which btw is happening right now.

Will it work ? maybe, maybe not but trying  to do something about all the unsustainable debt floating about globally is well overdue. My bet is it will end up being  inflated away at the cost of the public facing much higher pricing for everything globally,    which has always been the most likely end result of the globalisation experiment.

and the orange man starts to understand the problems/mistakes he made/created come to realize that he does need allies, the questions is, will the "past" allies that he screw up will answer his/orange man calls. He removed tariffs on mobile phones, computers, and other electronics to help his "friends" donators of at least 1 million USD each because they were loosing too much too fast, Apple Cook, Meta and Amazon just to name a few, they contributed to his inauguration with cash, now it's pay back time. Trump is trying to build an allied front to counter China, he had the opportunity to do it back in 2017 but he decided to dismantle the agreement

Still, the idea of building an allied front to try to modify China’s trade practices is such a good idea, it’s a wonder no one thought of it before.

They did. And Trump shut it down.

On the first day of his first term in 2017, Trump withdrew from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a group of 12 nations including allies like Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Australia, as well as Japan that did not include China. The president also shut down a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership that would have linked the world’s two largest markets.

the Dems have plenty of evidence of foul play about the "cash" donations to Trump's inauguration, now his doing his "friends" a favor

“Apple CEO Tim Cook donated $1 million to Donald Trump’s inauguration. Looks like he’s getting a big return on his investment,”

Cook donated $1 million to President Trump’s inaugural fund, as did Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

“Trump gets bribes. Billionaires get special treatment. Working people get screwed,” he added.

Procurement will suffer and the loss of US purchasing power will not recover, never.

Factories take mature planning and execution and time.

By the time any factories are built in the US IMHO all the current citizens will be long dead and buried, maybe their grandkids might see something but then robots will be doing all the work!
