Crime Husband Shoots Wife Dead in Public After Failed Reconciliation Attempt

A woman was shot dead in broad daylight at her workplace in Nan province by her estranged husband, after repeated attempts to reconcile failed. Chilling CCTV footage captured the moment the man pulled out a handgun and shot her before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.

 

The victim, a 31-year-old woman referred to only as Ms. A, was an employee at a local food shop in Nan. She was fatally shot on the morning of 21 April. Police later identified the suspect as 34-year-old Mr. Surasak, her husband.

 

 

Footage from security cameras shows Mr. Surasak riding past his wife’s residence at 10:07 before heading to her workplace. Another camera outside the shop captured the confrontation at 10:16. In the video, Surasak is seen pleading with Ms. A to return to him. When she refused, telling him she would no longer tolerate his abuse, he drew a firearm and shot her at point-blank range before fleeing. A final camera recorded him riding away just one minute later.

 

Shortly after the murder, the suspect posted on his personal Facebook account, claiming he needed time alone. He cited financial troubles and alleged that his wife had left him for the shop owner, accusing her of being a mistress.

 

The victim’s mother, gave a heartbreaking account of years of domestic violence. She said her daughter had been physically assaulted by Mr. Surasak more than a hundred times, particularly when he was intoxicated. The last severe incident occurred on 21 March, when Ms. A was left with visible injuries. That was when her mother insisted she leave him for good.

 

“He used to beat her almost every time he drank.” said the grieving mother. “I told her to separate. I think he was angry because I helped her leave him.”

 

The mother also revealed that just four days prior to the shooting, Mr. Surasak had sent a threatening message to Ms. A’s sister, including a photo of a gun and ammunition. In the message, he warned that if Ms. A didn’t return, he would kill her entire family.

 

Further distressing details emerged from Ms. A’s own Facebook post dated 21 March, where she shared images of injuries inflicted by her husband, revealing the extent of the abuse she had suffered.

 

Police have launched a manhunt to track down Mr. Surasak, who remains at large. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts as the investigation continues.
