Any help, getting old cannot remember or work out how..

Need more storage so thought easy use a USB, tried 2 that I already have + bought a brand new one,

followed instructions formatted the drive on my PC and plugged into the TV Box, but cannot find the USB

USB port on Box works [plugged in a USB light + a USB Fan both work], so why can I not find the USB Storage stick, what am I doing wrong  ??

as a note all 3 USB sticks work on my PC so nothing wrong with them  -  have a Bluetooth keyboard dongle on the TV Box that works,  tried the USB Stick in that port = nothing  ?

Historically It has been a tricky arrangement and i am not sure if all versions of android work in the same way.

I have had a couple of android boxes and recently when using a usb it has to have been formatted in the box, once that has been done I haven't been able to use it again in the computer.

Early doors I lost a couple of usb sticks after trying to use them again in the computer, became corrupted and irrecoverable.

I used to load apk files but gave up on that, think it was android 11 that blocked access to the system files.

Another point worth looking at, you may need to get a better file manager, I have found the ones that come with a box a bit limited.

Also I think you can see the box file structure by connecting through the network to a computer, seem to remember doing it once but a while back.

Good luck

If you want to expand the storage of an Android box, you use a Micro SD card(if your box has one). The box should format it.

Total nonsense. You'd use a USB stick or hard drive if you need larger capacity.

No Cameroni... if you don't understand the subject, best for you to stay quiet, rather than to illustrate the paucity of your knowledge.

Given that many boxes will have ONE USB 2.0 and ONE USB 3.0 port with possibly the USB 2.0 port being used for a Remote Control, it makes sense to keep the USB 3.0 port free for any eventuality. Hence the Micro SD port being best for use for the expanding of internal storage. You are less likely to need to remove it. Whereas you can get an USB 3.0 to Micro SD adapter if you ever need to use a Micro SD card on occasion.

No it doesn't. You'd just use a USB hub. Your advice is totally false.

Cameroni....why would you buy an extra USB hub? 🙂

Why the need for childish Trolling of negative emojis just because you have been shown to be completely wrong in everything you have suggested.

ignis, I suggest you ignore the Trolling and incorrect advice given by one poster in particular.

If you use a USB thumb drive, then you won't be able to remove it. Not good, as then you won't have any free USB ports. Better to use a Micro SD card, which can stay in situ. Follow the video guide that I've posted. USB thumb drive will also work, but I don't recommend it for the reason aforementioned.

I should point out that there are two options. Internal Storage and Removable Storage.

The first for you want to expand the capacity of the box in order to download directly to the box etc or the second if you want to use it as Removable Storage, plugging and unplugging as needed.
