while that is true,  I'm just pointing out that many things in 7-11 have risen 25-35% in a couple of months, is it CP greed? who regulates what they charge? as others here have also pointed out how much they're usual buys have gone up.

There are many variables in the price of food and other products, but some always think there is only one answer.

CP may well have turned a loss into a profit but how did they do it, possibly by selling off some capital asset, who knows. i have shopped at lotus for a great many years and since the changeover there has been increases on some products and decreases on others. Tends to even out.

One thing is never going to change, foreign sourced products rising faster than local production.

We go to the Chatachuk market at Bang Saen on a regular basis and get a large Chang for 65 baht and a meal for 60/70 baht, been that way since the market was refurbished 6 or 7 years ago, before the refurbishment it was 75 for a large Chang.

At the end of the day prices are up to you.

Just been shopping in Makro.

Cheese has always been a bit pricey, but now with aro vintage cheddar at 198bht for 500gm, is the cheapest I've purchased in the past 16 years (Vs mainland vintage 265bht for 500gm)

So replacing Meiji milk with dairy rich powder, around 50% saving

And mainland vintage with aro vintage, saving 20%

Not to mention 15 years back tea bags were 200bht for 80bags (heladiv English breakfast), now typhoo at 100bht for 100 bags, saving 60% or Tata gold 200bht for 150bags, saving 50%

Did I mention decent cannabis at 5bht/gm

Are food price changes really that bad?

How would you rate that for strength on a scale of 1 to 5 , 1 being almost tasteless and 5 being strong as Stilton.

Going to Makro on Wednesday , so may pick some up.

Also , do they come in 1kg size blocks?

Thanks for posting this..

It's a 4-5, same strength as mainland vintage, but slightly less crumbly.

Only sold in 500gm blocks.

I've been happily buying the mainland vintage, can find no fault.

But as the aro vintage is so similar, I might as well save 20%.
