America has been in decline for decades. Maybe not for some, but it's undisputed that the middle class is no longer what it was in the 50s and 60s.  I could go into all that, but I don't think it's really necessary.

I didn't say it happened overnight.  And the original poster didn't say that, either.  He was discussing some people's perceptions about the Left and about Trump.  You're the one who brought up the issue, as if the Trump supporters were all blaming the left for America's problems.  I'm pretty sure they don't think the problems magically appeared over a three month period.

When I lived in Appalachia, they kept going on about O-bama phones.

 

They thought he was passing out phones to black people -that he personally was passing them out.

 

Int turned out that during floods and stuff, FEMA might toss disaster victims a cheap flip phone, to all races.

 

I barely comment on his autistic fans here, but I do think "O-bama phone", occasionally when I read them her for snark amusement. O-bama phones. It still cracks me up.

There is a clip somewhere on YouTube of a interviewer trying to explain to a MAGA how a tariff is a tax on goods which is paid for by the buyer of said goods, and the MAGA insisting the tariff is paid by the country exporting the goods to America.
