Taking a shot of EVOO per day

tried a daily shot of olive oil for days to see if it really could improve my gut health

Swapping pricey supplements for a simple spoonful of extra virgin olive oil is the latest gut health trend going viral. Promising better digestion, clearer skin and reduced inflammation, it sounds too good to be true – so put it to the test

Drink water (or milk) kefir to improve you gut health.  It's almost the only water I drink at home.

Don't know why anyone would think 1 shot (28 gr) of EVOO would improve one's gut health.  Good if trying to gain weight, having 248 calories, 36% of your sat. fat, and 19% of total fat for the day.

I can think of better ways to consume 248 calories; 100gr / 3.5oz of beef tenderloin for one.

I often use Evoo for cooking, alternating with lard or tallow depending upon the dish I'm cooking.

I also eat a handful of Kalamata olives EVERY DAY. Olive oil doesn't get any more virgin than that.
I eat them because I like them, and because when following a Keto Lifestyle, we need more fats and oils for energy, and olives create a lot.

To date (and I've been doing this daily for the past six years,) I have not noticed any changes in my skin, my weight has stayed at 72.5 kilo (give or take a kilo or two) for the past 6 years. (Yes, I weigh myself every Saturday morning.)
Evoo IS a very healthy fat. But it's not a miracle worker. We need a balanced diet for good health, and a spoonful of Evoo isn't going to do it. It won't hurt. Just won't help by itself.
