In a disturbing incident in Sing Buri, central Thailand, a husband attacked his wife on a busy road, claiming jealousy as his motive. The altercation unfolded on May 12 on the Asian Highway, when 62-year-old Sak stabbed his wife, Juthamas, age 50, with a knife, causing serious injuries to her shoulder and head.

Local residents intervened, restraining Sak and contacting Mueang Sing Buri Police Station, leading to his arrest. Meanwhile, a rescue team transported Juthamas to the hospital. Sak also sustained a significant cut on his hand during the attack.

According to reports, the knife broke during the assault, with the blade separating from the handle. Police discovered the weapon on the road alongside two overturned motorcycles belonging to the couple.

Sak and Juthamas, married for 20 years, have a 20-year-old child. Their relationship recently strained as they lived apart — Sak working in Chai Nat province and Juthamas at a factory in Sing Buri. Suspecting infidelity after their child mentioned Juthamas's irregular patterns of not returning home, Sak travelled to confront her.

Claiming to have caught her with another man multiple times, Sak reportedly planned the attack after an incident on May 11. He admitted to consuming alcohol to muster the courage for the assault.

Witnesses recounted Sak chasing Juthamas and repeatedly stabbing her until the knife broke. Despite her injuries, Juthamas managed to escape on her motorcycle. Sak pursued her with the broken knife, leading to a crash involving both motorcycles. The disruption allowed residents to subdue and restrain Sak until police arrived.

Juthamas's current medical condition remains undisclosed, and the legal repercussions for Sak are pending, contingent on the extent of her injuries. The case continues to unfold as authorities determine appropriate charges and interventions for the serious domestic violence incident.
