The Canadian Embassy proved themselves as useless as usual. I went in at the appointed time and had to wait an hour because they couldn't find the consul. When they did, she said it was not the Embassy's business to notarise Canadian powers-of-attorney!

Last week, I went to the US Embassy to renew my passport. I had a similar Power of Attorney to be notarised. $75 and five minutes! At the appointed time...

This is why I need a Canadian lawyer, practicing or not, in Bangkok, as expat or tourist. Anybody know one?

Why didn't you get the other similar power of attorney done at the US Embassy? It should have been recognised and legal in Canada as well. I am pretty sure any legal documents authenticated by the US would be legal as well in Canada.

On another note. This is a perfect example that shows the US should take over Canada haha... Just teasing mate.
