A shocking video showing a daycare teacher in Chachoengsao pushing a toddler's head to make them sleep has sparked widespread outrage and cries for urgent childcare reforms.

The distressing footage, initially shared on Facebook, reveals the teacher forcefully pressing down on the head of a two-and-a-half-year-old as the child tries to sit up, igniting a fierce backlash from parents.

The child's mother, Sarunporn, expressed her anger and disbelief after a friend provided her with the video. Her son had been attending the daycare for just two weeks and had consistently shown reluctance, which she dismissed as typical at first. This alarming video, however, offers a possible reason for his unwillingness to attend each morning.

Following the video's release, other parents have come forward with similar grievances but without evidence to back up their claims. A collective of concerned parents plan to ask the daycare's director to review all available CCTV footage to verify if other children have suffered similar mistreatment.

Meanwhile, Siripong Wongphokinhiran, head of the Chachoengsao Children’s and Family Shelter, has confirmed receipt of an initial complaint from Sarunporn. He intends to accompany her in addressing the daycare centre's management to investigate the issue thoroughly, focusing not only on this incident but on the broader childcare environment.

In a related incident, a mother in Nakhon Ratchasima province has raised allegations against a teacher for pinching her second-grade daughter, leaving visible bruises.

Nijwaree, the upset mother of Wanmai, stated that her daughter relayed the painful encounter after returning, visibly distressed at the thought of returning to school. She seeks justice, demanding the school investigate the allegations.

Both situations highlight the urgent need for stricter oversight in educational institutions to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Authorities are urged to act swiftly, providing anxious parents with reassurance that their children are in safe, nurturing environments.

Do this in America you lose your job immediately and are blacklisted from working near children. Hopefully they do something here. You don't touch anyone's children with force for any reason besides restraint for their own protection. My daughter's Thai teacher used to hit the kids with a stick she always had next to her desk. I told the supervisor it needs to stop immediately or that teacher will lose her job. She was talked to but not enough because it happened again while I was there waiting to pick up my daughter. I again told the supervisor this is the last time, and went to the class and broke her three sticks. So far my daughter says it's stopped. If it was a man, it would have been bad for him.

I’m not sure exactly why but it seems like Tyran is very relaxed with these teachers you know you’d read all the time and the elementary school junior high school etc. but these teacher are out of control they punish these children by hitting them or doing other weird stuff I think the teacher touches a child she should be fired on the spot and never teach again TIT

I want to emphasize this sentence: "Her son had been attending the daycare for just two weeks and had consistently shown reluctance, which she dismissed as typical at first."

(Maybe she should have taken her child's reluctance a bit more seriously?)

Always listen to your children, especially when they just come out and say something. It's been on their minds and talking to their parents, whom they trust, gets it out safely. My daughter tells me some surprising things when I just sit back and listen.

Unbeknownst to me, when my child was 4/5 her teacher used to hit the kids toes with a ruler if the didn’t lie down and be quiet for their afternoon sleep.

I only found out when my daughter was 14 and recounted how it used to terrify her when she was at that school.

The teacher was a young late twenties, good looking and very friendly person. Had I known what she was doing my daughter would have been out from that school the next day and never gone back. It clearly traumatized her as she remembered it 10 years later as a very bad experience from her childhood.

A friend of mine tells me that the teacher in question now seeks coffee from a coffee stall. What the career change happened I don’t know, but I could hazard a guess.

Is Tyran in Asia or somewhere else?

And please, no excuses of not understanding English very well.

Everyone who comes to Thailand, knows exactly how it is spelt.

Maybe a slip of the fyrings fingers while typing?
