The law has only recently been changed in the UK. You cannot say anything that can be considered derogatory about Islam now. This does not apply to other religions.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder what sort of a visa the trans person will apply for.
At 30 years old, it is unlikely to be a Non-Imm-O visa leading to a retirement extension. That will cost 800,000 thb or over 18,000 GBP, so the Gofundme of 5,000 GBP will be a bit short. Not enough for a marriage extension either plus he/she will need proof of a genuine marriage. A work visa would be unlikely. A tourist visa will get him/her into the country but is of limited duration anyway.
Then comes the cost of actually living in Thailand.
Another problem may arise if the passport is in his name with his photo, and he/she comes in as a transwoman. Will Immigration allow him/her to enter Thailand anyway?
"By all accounts"??? It's complete nonsense. You can discuss Islam and why you disagree with it. What you cannot do is incite hatred against Muslims. The same applies to followers of other faiths e.g. Christians, Hindus etc. The law is even-handed in its approach towards all religious beliefs or a lack of them.
