snoop1130 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 File photo for reference only Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and current Interior Minister, has firmly denied any discord with Thailand's ruling Pheu Thai Party. On Monday, he addressed media reports that speculated about his potential removal from his ministerial position, labelling such claims as baseless. Reports emerged suggesting Anutin had arranged a meeting with senior Interior Ministry officials to reassure them of his stability in the role. However, speaking at the Interior Ministry, Anutin refuted these claims, stressing he had not conducted any such meeting. “It wasn’t me,” he stated, asserting that he would never involve ministry officials in political affairs, as they remain untouched by the political shifts. Anutin underlined his unblemished tenure, questioning the grounds for any dismissal. "What did I do wrong to warrant it?" he asked, countering speculations that suggest the Pheu Thai might reclaim the Interior Ministry post after the fiscal 2026 budget bill is passed. He emphasised his continued harmonious relationship with the Pheu Thai Party, indicating that political solidarity remains intact within the coalition government. Anutin’s assertion aims to quash rumours of a political shakeup, suggesting confidence and stability in his ongoing ministerial role. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Nation 2025-05-27 1
