You are the one who is a loser. I don't care what colour a mans skin is and I was referring to on a plane for a six hour flight not a coach.

If you are happy to sit with a mans hairy arms and legs against you, it just shows what foot you kick with, now run along.

You are a white supremacist.

And if the so called Indian man had a seat in Business, is it OK then. Would it have made any difference if the passenger had been 'white' ?

Did not notice he said an dark skin  Indian man.   That's racism.

No, he doesn’t – not in the slightest. He’s already made it perfectly clear he wouldn’t care if the women seated beside him were wearing burkas.

You, on the other hand, come across as a complete tool – first, for trying to force a faux-moral high ground by injecting racism into a conversation where it clearly doesn’t belong; and second, for that laughably snobbish remark suggesting that flying Economy somehow makes one a loser....

He make clear that he is a white supremacist.   Why do you defend white supremacy?

On flights they should be.

Emirates’ contract of carriage, a legal agreement passengers consent to upon purchasing a ticket, includes provisions for refusing boarding to those deemed “inappropriately dressed.” While not specifying a detailed dress code, the airline reserves the right to deny boarding for clothing that is offensive, lewd, or disruptive to other passengers’ comfort. For example, attire with profane language or excessive exposure (e.g., minimal clothing like “gym mesh singlets” or “running shorts”) could be flagged, as noted in a 2017 FlyerTalk forum discussion.

I’d wager most of the people frothing at the mouth over their inalienable right to dress like slobs in a pressurised tin can - utterly indifferent to the discomfort of everyone else - have never actually seen a pair of running shorts, let alone worn anything not steeped in stale body odour and delusion......

Traveling on an Emirates flight bound for Dubai I was sitting in a window seat and a dark skinned man, maybe Indian, dressed in shorts and a wife beater sat beside me.

I asked him to put on a shirt, but he obviously did not speak English, so I got up and said "excuse me" and went to find a flight attendant, she was very pleasant as was I.

I then went back to my seat expecting him to be sitting there, but he was gone. I then sat in my seat to be joined by two attractive girls.

My question is why was he not stopped from entering the plane and told to cover up? Is there not a dress code on planes?

I used to fly Emirates long haul (2003 - 2008) and made sure one way or the other that I was always on or upgraded to "Silver" Skywards. Flying below that was not an option. Their "Silver" lounge at Dubai airport was actually better than the "Gold" lounge.

I'm afraid there isn't these days.

I find the aircon on most flights to be too cold and windy to warrant shorts & T shirt. I wear long shirt and a jacket.  Seems silly that they issue all passengers with blankets to ward off the cold.

I always find planes too hot and want more AC

You sound like a racist, and a loser for buying a ticket in coach.

The cheap flight from Britain to Europe are full of drunks in vests and shorts looking for a fight. If you ask someone to change their clothes you might get a beating.

I always fly wearing a suit on long distance.  When they pick people to fill first class attire matters.

I bagged a first class flight to Miami with Vrigin this way once. I still have the Upper class toilet bag.

That myth of 'dressing up for an upgrade' passed decades ago...    it doesn't work.

I've had lots of upgrades...  no rhyme or reason... Eco to Business, Business, to First..   Whether I'm bottom FF tier, Silver or Gold...  I've never noticed a pattern...

I thought being Gold FF tier on so many rammed flights that were clearly oversold would get me an upgrade and that pattern would makes sense, but nope...     I've even been told by the check-in counter... flights overbooked, and upgrade at the gate is very likely !!!...  and I wasn't !!!...

I don't really care - I can sit there for 6 hours and have a lay over (hate flying longer than that) - and find Eco or business equally as boring...     At least its better if I'm not sat near or next to a pig, and thats what this thread is about...

...  having the common decency to behave and dress within reasonable levels so as not to discomfort others.

I've had a few, but Emirates, who I used to use a lot, changed their priority ratings several years ago.  Before it was as you say, in order of FF status.  After they changed, then plats were still at the top of the pecking order but after that it went by ticket group - Flex Plus, Flex, Saver, then Special - so a Gold with a Flex ticket would be outgunned by a Blue with a Flex Plus.

I preferred the old way as I was consistently Gold for several years until Covid times and before the change would regularly be upgraded.
