I haven't owned a vehicle in 18 years. Public transit,  bolt and walking are my preferred modes of transport. Liberation from the stresses of vehicle ownership and never looking back. True, there is the convenience and, to some, the status of owning a fancy car but if a person of the opposite sex values prized possessions  ... keeping on walking. You are meant for someone else not me. Just saying.

If rented it out once a week for 5 years then it's paid for , but that is almost impossible business numbers in UK I would say. 

Then add depreciation in value of the car and who is going to pay top money to rent a old model car when others have the latest model to rent .

Corruption is embraced by all Thai's, thus it isn't a crime, unless you step on the wrong persons toes or refuse to pay forward.

I can understand why hungry people steal. I can understand why drug addicts steal. But I can't understand why wealthy people (who run criminal gangs) steal. To amass more money than they could spend in their lifetime, more cars, more houses, more jewellry, more gold, etc.? When they die and have their Life Review, they will see everything they did, and hear the thoughts and feel the feelings of sorrow, pain, anger, etc. of their victims. People who have a Near-Death Experience talk about the awful regret and sadness they feel when they have a Life Review, and this makes them change their behaviour when they return to their body.

I have seen on the Thai News over the years I've been here how cheap it is to do that. Hitmen caught say they did it for as little as 5,000 Baht, though 10,000 to 20,000 Baht is more common.

Because some of them (like the guy in this article) became wealthy by stealing. Why would they stop when its what made them wealthy in the first place?

My new Toyota has this too.

Fortunately there is a not too difficult trick to deactivate the key transmitter temporarily.

 

For other models things like a metallic box for the fob recommended. How silly.
