I think it is time to review some laws, as there is a need of people like this.... Of course everything according to the new laws, but be fair opening a business with a sharehold of 51% for Thais and the investor only has the minority of 49% of the shares is not inviting new businesses. Besides that tourguides are a protected Thai occupations and no foreigners are allowed to do it and you can only hire 1 foreigner on 3 Thai employees.. It is not of the 21st century anymore. The lazy Thai people are being protected but are keeping the country away from going forward.

A need for what people? People who knowingly break the current law, thereby getting Thai immigration all stirred up, such that law abiding people are forced to jump through more hoops? Those people?

If Thai people want to be lazy and backward, that’s up to them. Farang just need to stay within whatever the laws are.

At least this is one case where it can’t be said that the 60 day visa free has caused it!

We have only heard one side of the story.

It’s quite possible he owned the tour company up to 49%, was a director and had no day to day work in the business.  That would be perfectly legal under an Elite Visa.

If the company wasn’t certified to do tours that’s another issue.
