I   asked  an agent in Bangkok to renew my  yearly retirement extension and got a quote of 25,000 Thai baht for the service. I had informed them I have the 800Thousand Thai baht in the bank  but the price they wanted  was taking the piss. I know that in Bangkok the price would be more than chiang mai price but the most I was asked there was 7,000 does any one know of a good agent in Bangkok who does this cervice

Your confusion is the fact that you really just need a "shepherd" or "hand holder" <- someone to get the documents together for you, make sure your paperwork is right (bank letter, TM30, lease, copies, application, etc) and jump the queue for you out at Chaengwattana so you can get seen without having to queue up with the zombie horde

I think it will be hard to find any agent that will do bangkok stamps for you with you banking your own funds at a rate other than their 'base rate'

In Pattaya they will be a "shepherd" for you and hold your hand for 7-8k baht but I don't know any company that offers that in bangkok
