Please see my most recent forum post. It's a thread on left-wing mental illness. I'll leave it at that

Well if you want to be reasonable let's discuss right wing mental illness, let's discuss Trump's mental illness, and Miller's mental illness, and the mental illness of so many of his cabinet members and members of Congress and the Senate are engaging in complete and total fealty to the new king.

What's that called, "lawandorderism"?

My cousin is an immigration attorney in Miami, and he tells me that top MIT graduates who finish their programs in nuclear physics, can't get a visa to work for an American company within the US. So they either need to go work for that American company overseas, or they need to work for another company overseas. Either way it's a huge brain drain away from the US. He also tells me that the quota system is 70 years old and is in drastic need of updating, especially for the higher qualified people with great expertise.

The less educated amongst us and the ones who gorge on podcasts and engage in memes, do not want to look into this and do not want to educate themselves on what is a very serious issue in regard to immigration.

Let's have an honest discussion here. Trump convinced members of Congress and the Senate to veto an immigration bill last term, as he did not want Biden to get credit for the passage of this bill. You could not only make an argument that it was a huge disservice to his nation, but you could also make an argument that it was entirely selfish motives that compelled him to act in such an unpatriotic manner.

Please outline the bill and what it would have done to close the border and facilitate top MIT graduates who finish their programs in nuclear physics are allowed to stay in the country.

And as long as we are being honest, how about @spidermike007 supporting his claim that

"...multiple studies have shown that illegal immigrants are net positive to the US economy. Most of them pay taxes and contribute to Social Security and they'll never see any return or any benefits on that money."

He will not, because he can't because it's a lie. Sure, he'll find a few phony articles that say as much, but he will not find a legitimate study.

It doesn't work like that spiderman. That's called deflection.

How about the mental illness of stealing intellectual property which a corporation bought an paid..of a model .. paid for services and passing it off as your likeness??

Now THAT is mental illness.

More than 100 undocumented immigrants worked at Trump’s Bedminster resort during construction: report
02/08/19

Dozens of immigrants who did not have legal status worked on the construction and operation of President Trump’s resort in Bedminster, N.J., according to a new report by The Washington Post.

At one time, the Post reports that more than 100 workers without legal status were under employment at the resort.

Sixteen such workers from Costa Rica and other Latin American nations spoke with The Washington Post and claimed they worked previously at the Bedminster resort illegally, while some said that at one time more than 100 workers without legal status who were employed by the organization lived together.

Let's hope they've all been deported.

Regardless of where you stand on the political spectrum it's difficult to argue with public sentiment, and the public seems to be disagreeing with Trump's handling of recent events, and his poll numbers seem to be reflecting that.

Per the original WaPo article, a bunch of them made so much under-the-table "Trump money" at Bedminster that they went back to Costa Rica and bought their own home.

Good for them. So much for Trump cheating everyone he ever did business with.

Well, if they are still there, they had better watch out because Alina Habba is now the INTERIM US attorney for that area.

And?

I'm talking about how the democrat's are saying without the illegal immigrants (cheap labor)  they will have nobody to pick the crops.

they are not illegal, they are hired on a temporary basis to pick up the crops, usually 3 months and then go back to their home country, if I remember correctly there was a very old (California) law/agreement  about that, it's been going for many generations

“For too long, the vast majority of temporary foreign workers have remained unprotected and subject to the documented abuses of unscrupulous foreign labor recruiters

I'm actually an immigration hardliner. There needs to be a clean out and mass deportations. But it needs to concentrate on the cities. Farm workers and hotels/resorts are the easiest to fix. There is a visa for them already, the H2A. It would be a fairly simple matter to have current illegals do a border run (at the farmers and hoteliers expense) and be processed for their visas. As for the hotel owner (Trump), I think there is an even bigger hotel/casino/resort complex owner behind this, Miriam Adelson.

She was the third largest donor to Trump's 2024 election bid, donating $106 million.

-- maybe not behind it enough.

am quite sure Trump is trying to divert attention from something more important, we just don't know what yet but soon enough it will pop up

I think that could be said about a lot of his actions, he's obviously flailing at this point, his poll numbers are dropping alot, and a lot of his policies are falling flat, so he's desperately trying to create some distractions.

Trump orders ICE to halt raids in agriculture, hospitality sectors amid LA protests: Report
President Trump orders ICE to pause enforcement operations in agriculture, hotels, and restaurants, according to internal guidance cited by the New York Times.

14 JUN 2025

US President Donald Trump has ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials largely pause raids and arrests in the agricultural industry, hotels and restaurants, the New York Times reported.

The report, citing an internal email and three U.S. officials familiar with the directive, stated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement had paused certain enforcement actions.

In guidance to regional department leaders, senior ICE official Tatum King said, “Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels,” according to the Times.

“We will follow the president’s direction and continue to work to get the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens off of America’s streets,” The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to NYT.
