It was offered as travel money, because I was in doubt about the whole thing. 

 

 She was already waiting for me inside hotel since I came straight from a freediving session, and booked hotel in her name. I had a small bungalow up in the hills, but choosed to rent a hotel just in case I needed an escape.

 

We ended up in the Sach right away after showering together, and 3 times a day or more,  partied our hearth out the whole week, and when she was leaving, I frankly didn't know what to do. I usealy paid well when I meet someone out who I decided to travel together for fun, but this time we had  been chatting for weeks or months,  dont really remember 15 years ago where  she had time to leave Hua Hin for a week to visit me for holiday she said.

 

This is one of the awkward situations that happens when meeting asians, where you really do not know. Back home with situations like this you know it is pure fun and impulsive fun. This  also happened with a few I thought was freelancers, they didn't accept money, and the whole situation turned awkward from just  being fun.

 

Most times I just left money on the table when getting up for diving or frediving, when I had a one night stand, and I let them continue to sleep. If not I normally slipped a few k in to their purse, or asked them what their going rate was if no doubt. They useally liked to talk about their bf if they had one, and frankly a few of them didn't accept pay either. I honestly did not have many one night stands in Thailand, I rather liked to circle them in and figure out what they where up to. Fun or serious relationships. I stayed as much I could away from drama queens who could make trouble, and I'm not the one who chased down the gullible ones If I didn't want to give us a chance. But most times they failed during long time separation. Either super suspicious about me, or the ordinary no connection, no battely, mom sick, brother accident with my motorbike. So that was the end to all of them, or those few I wanted to see how was in real life outside tourist destinations.

 

 Anyway, this was back in my prime, and happy I'm done with it.

Just ask her what her intentions are, I finely figured out that before I met my wife. Same goes when meeting the family first time, ask them what they expect from you. Sooner the better.

 

I know a few who asked the girls about sin sod, who said there will be no sin sod, for later experience awkward behavior from their fiance, who finely braked down in tears saying family expect big sin sod. So many things you only learn by time, which makes your life easier without being rude. Fine balance, but still

I was told 25 years ago, by a Thai man, when I first came here and went to play golf that the caddies get very little money, are surrounded by rich men and so most of them work "extra-time at nights for a good tip."

This is interesting because my regular short-time girl told me one year ago soon we might not be able to meet any more as she was offered a job on a golf course. Eventually it didn't pan out for her, but there may be some "golf connection" for top-tier working girls.
