My passport has few months left to expiry and I will need to travel soon.So if I get new passport in my embassy in Bangkok, the old one will be canceled, but has valid marriage visa? Do i need to transfer the visa to new passport, or just leave it in old one? Please advise. Thank you all in advance.

P.S. Also if I got re entry permit to travel on 16 June, but my flight is changed to 30 of June, will the permit will be valid, do I need to do anything?

As far as I know visas cannot be transferred or changed, you transfer the extensions, there is a form for it

Re-entry permit is valid until the expiry of your current permission to stay. It makes no difference when you leave and return as long as it's before that date.

Yes, its one year permit/extension. So after I get the new passport I need to fill the form and immigration will stamp this extension into new passport?

I've been told that you have to carry both passports when you travel. One with the visa in it, and then the new valid passport, until you get the new visa in the new passport.

Not so, you cannot get the visa in a new passport

Are you saying that when you go to renew your annual visa they won't put it in your new passport, but rather they'll put it in your expired passport? That doesn't make much sense.

The visa always remains in the old passport it was issued in, only extensions are transfered to the new passport

Do you know if I can move the stamp to new passport in Bangkok, if my original stamp/visa is from Phuket immigration office?

Stamps can only be transferred at immigration office where they are issued.

Having stated that I recall a post where that wasn't the case and CM transferred stamps that were not issued there.

There was another similar question months back. Also stamps issued in Phuket.

Suggest you chat with a visa agent.

Think this one also deals with Phuket not sure. @ThaiVisaCentre

By way of example... I had my visa information and stamps transferred to my new pp year ago.

CW would not transfer Reentry Permit.

Reason being that it was issued at DMK airport.

No surprise as was aware.

For folk in that situation just travel internationally with both pp.

Added note for those transferring stamps at CW..

CW are requiring photocopies of bank book back to last extension to check compliance for those using money in bank method. A new trick.
