How is Russia "winning this invasion"? By the end of 2023, they'd lost approximately 60% of the territory they took during the first months of the war and since the invasion began, they've lost over a million soldiers.

The war had been effectively at a stalemate for over a year now - no-one is "winning."

Putin has never had much regard for Trump. That much has always been obvious. I believe that he has regarded Trump as a useful tool but beyond that I don't think there's any affection or respect. And why should there be?

That's true. We/the West really needs to step up the type and amounts of weapons given to Ukraine so that they can finish the job of destroying the orcs. That includes long range cruise missiles that can bring the war to the Russians.
