Georgealbert Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Picture courtesy of TMN. A 21-year-old man has died following a crash between his large motorcycle and a 10-wheel lorry at the Guan Yu intersection on the Crocodile Farm–Nong Ket Yai Road in Nong Pla Lai, Bang Lamung district. Pol. Lt. Wattanakit Yodart, an investigator from Bang Lamung Police Station, responded to the scene alongside rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and paramedics. At the scene, officers found the victim, later identified as Mr. Metha Yingyai, a native of Loei province, lying motionless in the middle of the road. Rescue workers attempted CPR but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead shortly after. Nearby, a green Kawasaki big bike bearing Bangkok registration plates was found completely destroyed. The force of the impact had left the motorcycle in ruins. The other vehicle involved was a blue Hino 10-wheel lorry, registration number from Kanchanaburi, which was parked at the roadside. The truck sustained minor damage to its air pump system. The driver, 31-year-old Mr. Yutthapichai Homchuen, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the police. Mr. Yutthapichai recounted that he had been driving from Nong Ket Yai towards Nong Prue. As he crossed the intersection, a high-speed motorcycle approached from the right and slammed into the side of his lorry, sending both rider and bike flying. He immediately pulled over and waited for authorities to arrive. Local residents told reporters they had earlier seen the same motorcycle speeding through the area before returning moments later, when the fatal crash occurred. The deceased’s body was transferred hospital, where it will be held until his family can claim it for religious rites. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the precise cause of the crash and will proceed with legal steps accordingly. Adapted by Asean Now from TMN 2025-06-19 1 1 1
