Police have raided an illegal production site of the illicit concoction known as “4x100,” arresting a supplier and seizing a large quantity of kratom tea and cough syrup in Warin Chamrap district, Ubon Ratchathani.

The operation, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Wittaya Sriprasertpap, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division (CSD), was carried out under the direction of Pol. Col. Suriyasak Jirawat and Pol. Lt. Suwijak Rattanaphan.

Officers apprehended Mr. Nakorn 53, for multiple offences under The Food Act of 1979, particularly concerning the illegal production and sale of substances classified under List 52, which includes kratom leaves and extracts.

The raid took place in a commercial building located in Soi Arkan, Saensuk subdistrict, Warin Chamrap. Authorities discovered a makeshift processing and storage facility disguised as a local shop. Hidden in large freezers and ice containers were 211 bottles of kratom tea in various sizes (1.5L, 1L, and 500ml), as well as 189 bottles of cough syrup, key ingredients in the 4x100 cocktail.

Police also seized a detailed sales ledger titled “Kratom Warehouse,” which included precise records of daily sales and inventory, suggesting a professional and large-scale operation. The estimated value of the seized goods exceeds 200,000 baht.

The raid followed a tip-off indicating that the suspect had been openly selling kratom-based drinks mixed with pharmaceutical cough syrup in local markets, in blatant disregard for the law.

Mr. Nakorn was immediately taken into custody and transferred to Warin Chamrap Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Under the law, the illegal production or distribution of kratom products carries penalties of six months to two years’ imprisonment and fines ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 baht.

Authorities have warned that further inspections will be carried out as part of a broader crackdown on the resurgence of illicit 4x100 production across the region.
