British Teen Claims Torture in Thailand During Georgia Court Hearing

"UAE. CCTV footage revealed she used the automated passport control without asking for help"

I recommend that the "automated passport contol" device be investigated for malicious AI software that was used to coerce her to smuggle drugs. In normal situations, the "automated passport contol" device would have detected her need for help and contacted the appropriate authorities. Case closed, set her free.

Surely you must mean after her trial and if she is found guilty?

Was she somehow duped into carrying the drugs? Maybe.
But her story is full of holes.

But "Following this, a social media page shared the story in Thai, suggesting police coerced her into smuggling, damaging the country's reputation."🤣😏😂

She used an automated gate as seen on CCTV. She claims she was ignored by the immigration officer when she asked for help. Looks like she is digging herself into a bigger mess.

It was NEVER like this when it was ThaiVisa.

She needs to stop making up ridiculous excuses, she isn't being tried in the soft-touch UK where that would get you a suspended sentence. She needs to start grassing people up.

Kinda like how the Thraksin crime family keeps making up excuses and getting away with it?

Her defence states she was unaware of the drugs, thinking she was on a trip to assist someone after receiving a passport and ticket.

Quite a laughter.

How can they believe that sort of crappy excuse ever makes any sense in court?

She surely assisted Someone Else to smuggle narcotic into Georgia.

Certainly not like the case where innocent tourist was set up by the malicious 3rd party beyond own knowledge.

She and her "employer" must have had a Deal; carrying heaps of weed into a  foreign country, she got her all travel related expenses covered in return.

Pretty common example of drug mule.

Case closed...

Yes, she seems guilty. She also seems very dumb. She's very young. Why would she be going to Georgia of all places.

Despite her case, there is something fishy going on out of BKK airport. Disproportionate number of travelers getting 'caught' with marijuana heading to Europe/UK - including couples. Then there's the Canadian guy with suitacses full of hard drugs - who the authorities said was getting paid $30,000 for his risk. Another red flag. That 30k wouldn't even buy him a new car in Canada. Why would he take such a big risk for such little reward?

Everytime when such incident happened... the victim's family and friends without fail will claim the victim is an angel ... being set up..

Come on people use  your intelligence....

Thai customs has a room full of suitcases confiscated from tourists, mainly Brits, who were caught trying to smuggle cannabis out of Thailand.  Since it it not currently a serious offence in Thailand, they are either released without charge and minus the dope and luggage or get a modest fine.  Unlucky for her and the British girl in Dubai they were caught there and not here.  Still gotta be a bit intellectually challenged to take the risk of smuggling drugs, specially to countries like Georgia and Dubai where penalties are strict, prisons awful and the justice system dubious,

Before legalisation the story was about Brits smuggling cigarettes back to the UK from duty free shops in the Mid East.

There’s people on here just looking for a chance to vent their own  anger issues on any platform.

That's another one of the negative aspects of legalizing weed and growing - Thailand is now a "hub" for smugglers. This doesn't sound like the work of a serious criminal organization - more like her her boy "Russ" probably convinced her it'll be brilliant to smuggle it and they'll live happily ever after. Now he will live happily free without her and she'll get to call jail home.

Good that it gets publicity though - warn other idiots not to do it.

maybe in your opinion.

but in the opinion of many others, including almost all countries, smuggling drugs is a big crime.

its impossible that she did not know that there was drugs in her suitecase.

rule 1 when traveling.

pack your <deleted> yourself.

dont let anybody else put stuff in your suitecase.

rule 2

dont take anything with you for somebody if you dont know what is in it.

many countries aren't that nice if you come in and smuggle stuff in that is not allowed.

do the crime, pay with your time.

those families dont have intelligence,

if they had their kid wont smuggle anything in or out a country.

I am traveling around the world already for more than 30 years,

never ever smuggled anything to anywhere.

but, then again, I am not trying to get rich superquick.

as I dont like the jail in many countries.

I have seen some prisons from the outside and inside, but never stayed in one.

you dont want to be in them.

Sure , but it doesn't justify the harch comments here.

I was rather surprised reading her list of excuses,  that she didn’t claim she got pregnant because someone raped her.

Unfortunately it looks like she has been nicked and is now fabricating tall stories to seek mitigation of her sentence. Though it's a mild crime to us to the Georgians it's very serious & shocking.

She'll need all.the help she can get to avoid jankey.

She was smuggling Cannabis FFS so many people on here are the epitome of Nasty little Narrow minded keyboard warriors ! Social Media has created some truly Disgusting Low life Scum these days !!! Her Lifes Destroyed for now as is Her familys . It's Weed not People Trafficking . You Nasty little comment brigade should be ashamed of Yourselves though You're obviously not intelligent or compassionate enough to be.

During the pre-trial in Tbilisi, Culley tearfully explained she was coerced into the crime, highlighting her ambition to become a nurse and her clean drug tests.

That means that she is not a user.  Most mules are not,

Sorry but I think that this is the best story that she could use and it is not a good enough one to get her off.  She would be better off naming names as to who gave her the rugs/suitcase who paid for her ticket etc

I don't think it isw hate as much as it is frustration  with stupid people.

Let's face it, travelling to the Philippines and then to Thailand and Tbilisi with a suitcase that you have no idea the contents with a passport, airline ticket and money to do a favour for a friend, she is either very stupid or very desperate.

She doesn’t appear as the sharpest tool in the box. Like many others she’s of the generation where they feel compelled to share everything about their lives on media platforms gain “celebrity” status and  make a living from it.

Her posts mentioning drug taking was to impress, whether she did or not, aren’t going to do her any favours in her defence.

It seem’s reality is something she can’t grasp and her pathetic excuses demonstrates her reluctance to accept the fact she knew what she was doing and the outcome it’s going to have on her life.

She knew very well what was in the suitcase. She decided to smuggle with her boyfriend.

Bragging about being Bonnie & Clyde, and going on the run on social media.

She knew! The little liar.

I met a girl from Billingham 😊

Personally, I would not be so harsh when commenting. It's easy to sit in an ivory tower and criticise, but when you come from poverty, money can turn some people's heads.

People need to look at themselves and ask themselves why they are ranting away with such hate, at something they have merely read.

It's that tendency to want to feel that you are somehow better than them.

Never mind the old men coercing young local women here to do sexual favours for money. That doesn't count.

What counts is that they adjudge this young woman as somehow below them. When the glaring reality is that they are one and the same. Imperfect humans.

Every time she opens her mouth she digs a deeper hole, she didn’t know about the drugs but said she was coerced, well if she didn’t know about the drugs why would she think she had been

coerced ?

Then she said she tried to alert customs, but went to an automated gate without a customs officer on it, and why would she try to alert them if nothing was wrong ?

Then she didn’t know what country she was in , it just gets worse !

Cannabis is not a drug, neither is tobacco. They are mind altering plants.

😂 I booked you in already.😂

"Travelled with a group of men from PH to TH" pretty much says it all about the choices of this young lady.
