I take it that you do not live in Thailand or if you do live here that it must be in a basement or similar and that you never get out to talk to the many delightful Thai locals.

No, I have lived in Thailand now for 15 years, and I spent the first 3 trying to assimilate into the culture and finally decided it was a waste of my time and energy. I cannot speak for the character of every Thai, but I can only tell you that on my path I have met only liars and scammers and never met a Thai man that proved himself worthy of my trust. In order for me to cope, I decided to put up walls to protect my heart, and my money, and I am very comfortable living in my own little world with just my Thai wife and her family. I'm as happy as I'm every going to get, and I'm at peace with that.

In 20 years here that is pretty much my conclusion as well........and I get out.......a LOT.
