Police in Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan, are investigating a grim discovery after human bones were found scattered across an abandoned building, believed to belong to a 54-year-old security guard who had been reported missing. Authorities suspect he may have died from a pre-existing medical condition, with his remains later disturbed by his pet dog.

Police Lieutenant Prasit Kanchanasorn, an investigator from Bang Bo Police Station, received the report. He arrived at the scene alongside rescue personnel from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation. Upon inspection of the derelict building, located in the Bang Bo subdistrict, officers found multiple human bone fragments strewn across the premises. A human skull was discovered in the central area of the building.

Further examination of a small room believed to belong to the security guard revealed more bones, hair, and yellow bodily fluid stains on a mattress. Authorities began collecting the remains and placed them in white cloth bags for transfer to the Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra forensic institute for identification.

Mr. Worapot Ruangnok, a rescue worker from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, said the bones are likely those of a local security guard who had been living alone on-site. “We found packets of medicine for chronic illness in the room and it’s believed he may have died from a health issue without anyone realising,” he explained.

The man had reportedly not been seen or contacted in some time, prompting concerned former colleagues to notify the authorities. Officials suspect the man’s pet dog may have scavenged his body in the absence of food or human contact, leading to the dispersal of the remains throughout the building.

Police are now working to confirm the deceased’s identity by coordinating with the family to conduct DNA testing. The case will proceed according to procedures once identification is confirmed.

The investigation continues.
