You also seem to have a previous fine rapport as being a "one-liner troll" for derailment of threads.

Try to emulate @richard_smith237, and many others imparting advice, recommendations and pertinent information.

Kind regards

Paul

I ordered fish and chips on Grab yesterday.  I don't know what good fish and chips taste like but it was pretty good.  Fishmonger:  https://g.co/kgs/qrFwxEy

Perhaps you are just another Western clean-freak, obviously one who is afraid of fish and tasty crustaceans. With the exception of catfish and eels (don't particularly like the taste although smoked eel isn't too bad) I love all of the above.

 "They're DIRTY."
 Pfft - your loss. More for me.

Look at you inflating your vocabulary to appear intelligent and put me in my place.

if you are going to use words like rapport, however, get the context right.

you can't order deep-fried food for delivery and expect it to arrive in any condition that resembles fresh.

This is the appropriate first step.

Cod is.a must and I've never been to the small island near France.

It's all personal choice. Both Cod and Snapper are excellent. I've had both many times in various ways. Some don't like Mackerel, Bluefish, Trout, Herring, and Sardines, but they're  favorites. In Texas and New Jersey, we had all types of fish, both local and imported. Thailand doesn't get near the varieties of fish available to the US,

I've had fish and chips, but rarely eat fried foods, even though it was okay. The fried part takes away from the fish's flavor, which is why many types are fried, especially the ones that aren't too tasty baked or grilled. Catfish and others aren't real tasty unless fried, as are many panfish in the States.

Some people love Bass, but I've only kept a few in my life, as they don't taste great to me unless fried. One of the best fish I've ever had was Walleye, dipped in spiced flour, killed a minute before it was cooked on an island in a lake in Manitoba. Another is grilled Swordfish, one I miss and will have when I go visit the US in November. Blackened Snapper, a Louisiana dish, is also good, although spicy. Grilled Tuna another, as is Mako Shark, Halibut, Cod, Striped bass, Salmon, Redfish, Marlin, Flounder, Chilean Sea Bass, Pompano, Mahi Mahi (dolphin), Grouper and others, all of which I can easily get in Texas.

I like Salmon and Barramundi. Snapper is too easy to overcook.

As a rule i feel sick after fish and chips in Thailand, just too oily

Nobody has mentioned flake aka shark. Great flaky white flesh. Very good eating.

Anyway we cook our own but got to admit getting decent frozen haddock in Thailand is difficult.

Yesterday our home cooked "Fish an Chips" - Frozen Haddock and shop bought frozen Chips (I'm English - I know you Americans think chips are something else), Sarsons vinegar, home made tartar sauce, mushy peas and a glass of white wine!🤤

Now ya done flung a cravin' on me.  Damn you!  Anyone know where you can find excellent fish & chips in Chiang Mai?

Best I've had in CM was at OMG. Loy Kroh Road side of the Iron Bridge. OMG looks like a coffee shop from one approach but is a full restaurant if you go around the other side.

Had Haddock and came with decent chips, peas, tartar sauce, pickled onion, Wally/Gherkin and crusty bread and butter. Haven't tried Chippy at the Gate yet but will be next week. Be interesting to see how it compares to OMG.

There used to be and still is according to Google  an open air bar called the Bus Stop on Soi Nana about 300 metres up on the right side that did very good fish and chips. It is probably around 250 baht now. What kind of fish I did not ask but is was a food sized the last time I went. The nearest BTS station is Nana about 500 metres from The Bus Stop on the Sukhumvit line.

If you are in the area it is worth a visit. Although it is a bar, the ladies don't pester you for drinks. There are other good restaurants on Soi Nana as well.

Bus stop is still there

In Pattaya, I had a really nice fish and chips at Bay Fish, just opposite Terminal 21.

Need to give it a try.

Troll post, yet again.  Perhaps give your total attention to being outside of this relevant "sub-forum" which is being discussed, should be  implemented in the Asean Now, Lounge / Pub thread.

"Asean Now" still remains a primary resource for all  Q&A for both, resident and prospective overseas visitors to Thailand

Its recorded history is seriously  compromised after adverse commentary "Tripadvisor", "Dan meets Dan"- "Joel THB$100 per day Live like a King ,just for Northern Thailand etc..

Rather than trying to tangle horns, would like to see a post regarding Your experience of purchasing and eating "Fish and Chips" in Thailand.

OMG was one of the diners we were able to actually partake for an external Breakfast whilst staying at the  "Astra Condo" and its experience for a month.

Overall, a recommendation for OMG from Opal and I regarding the establishment would  be around 8/10 though we didn't have "Fish and Chips".

Chippy at the Gate, I have given 8/10 for their "Fish and Cihps", likewise we didn't have enough time to have their full "English Breakfast" either.

If quality of fare is measured both are equal.

Ad hoc service detracted from either being 10/10,  delivery from "kitchen to table" for both establishments was disjointed.

In both cases, we were the only patrons at the time.
