My Cambodian GF and I flew from Bangkok to USA last week. The polite immigration officer on arrival had plenty of questions for us. Wanted to know how long we were staying, where we were staying, why we were coming to the USA, when we were leaving and also wanted to see our onward tickets. Fair play. Protecting the homeland. If only the British government would do the same. No complaints for US despite the visa process and interview in Bangkok for the GF. It's called protection. Only those with good intentions should be allowed to enter any county. We had a great trip. God bless America and POTUS!

I'm currently visiting my adult kids in California ,my daughter tells me the illegal immigrant population in the city, 2-1/2 hours north east of LA are hiding out in fear of being picked up by ICE Enforcement. Which means they have violated immigration laws.The trouble caused by unlawful foreign nationals is fever pitched more so here cause its a Sanctuary state.

Both. Fiance visa in 2001 leading to marriage. She got a British passport within 3 years.

Current GF has a 10 year UK visit visa (after 2 previous 6mth visas).

I have been back to the UK with girlfriends before and now my wife several times. Each and every time we have to prove we were coming back, purpose of visit, proof of funds etc. And every single time she has been asked similar questions by a polite immigration officer on arrival. Even a quick mid trip hop over to Belgium on the Eurostar she got the same questions asked by the IO on arrival back at UK border control.
