Thailand’s bright young minds have made the nation proud once again, clinching an impressive 29 gold medals at the prestigious Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) 2025, held from 5 to 9 July in Singapore.

A total of 67 Thai students took part in the international competition, which drew over 2,380 participants from 37 countries around the world. Their exceptional performance earned Thailand 103 medals in total: 29 gold, 17 silver, and 57 bronze.

SIMOC 2025 featured three categories of competition:

1. Math Olympiad Contest – individual competition

2. Math Warrior Team and Math Master Mind – collaborative problem-solving

3. Math Mind Sport Team – team-based challenge with groups of five

Each of the Thai participants had previously achieved top results in national-level competitions in Thailand before qualifying for the international stage.

Among the standout performers was Peeraphat Pasuntharakarn (nicknamed “Knight”), who took home an outstanding six awards. In the International Singapore Math Competition (ISMC) category, Knight was honoured with the Global Champion & Perfect Score, Top Winner Thailand, and a Gold Medal & Certificate. In the Annual Mathlympics, he repeated his success with another Global Champion, Top Winner Thailand and a Gold Medal & Certificate.

His remarkable achievements also earned him an invitation to meet foreign ambassadors attending the competition and a personal audience with Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, the Thai Ambassador to Singapore.

The Thai delegation’s success not only highlights the country’s commitment to nurturing mathematical talent but also reinforces Thailand’s reputation on the global academic stage.
