Three courageous boys are being praised for their quick-thinking heroism after rescuing a woman from drowning in a canal near Soi Erawan 1 in Khlong Luang district.

The incident occurred in the Khlong Song subdistrict of Pathum Thani province, when a woman, believed to be aged between 30 and 35, accidentally fell into a canal and became too exhausted to stay afloat. She was spotted by three boys, who immediately rushed to her aid.

Police and rescue units from Tha Khlong Municipality and Thammasat University Hospital emergency services were called to the scene after reports of a drowning. Upon arrival, they found the woman unconscious, face down and soaked, wearing a white shirt, tight black shorts and black trainers. She was lying near the canal bank, having just been pulled from the water by the three young boys.

The rescuers were identified as Master Kittiphot Pimpisan (Guy) 13, his younger brother Master Warinthorn Pimpisan (Ky) 11 and their friend Master Siwat Jitpraphat (Boom), also 13.

Guy told reporters that he had left his house and noticed the woman clinging to the side of a canal bridge. Suddenly, she lost her grip and fell into the water, struggling to stay afloat. “I asked her if she was okay and she said she wasn’t,” he recalled. “So I reached out to grab her hand. My brother and friend helped me pull her up. We managed to get her out just before she passed out.”

Eyewitnesses said the woman had been seen sitting with her legs dangling over the canal before entering the water and getting into trouble. She was later taken by ambulance to Thammasat University Hospital for treatment. Her identity had not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Police investigator Pol. Sub-Lt. Songpol Songngam of Khlong Luang Police Station confirmed that the scene had been documented and further inquiries were underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Nearby CCTV footage captured part of the dramatic rescue, showing the three boys rushing over the bridge and stretching their hands out to help the struggling woman.

Local authorities and members of the public have since praised the boys for their bravery and selflessness. Their actions likely saved the woman’s life.
