The EU never learns.

First it wouldn't give Britain a good deal, leading to Brexit.

No it won't give the US a good deal, potentially leading to huge loss in trade with a colossal market.

The failing protectionist racket cutting off it's nose to spite it's face once again.

Colossus market?? LOL! EU is the biggest trading block out there! Over double the population as America! The world will find ways quickly to circumvent trade away from the US if the moron Trump isnt backing down a notch!! America is NOT the only country out there in case you did not know.....🙄

  • You mean the EU didn’t allow the UK to cherry pick and that rightfully so and now the Uk pays the price for their own actions!!!   Screw Trump! Stop trading with him altogether until he come

  • Same reason they wanted to punish Britain for Brexit.   The totalitarian, deeply authoritarian protectionist racket doesn't like it when the shoe is on the other foot. It's fine for them to

EU-US VEHICLE TRADE

EU-US NEW VEHICLE TRADE 1
The US remains the second largest market for new EU vehicle exports after the UK. In terms of value,
the US accounted for 22% of the EU export market in 2024.
757,654 new vehicles were exported from the EU to the US in 2024, valuing €38.9 billion
169,152 new vehicles were imported into the EU from the US in 2024, valuing €7.8 billion

749,170 new EU-made cars were exported from the EU to the US in 2024, valuing €38.5 billion for years the import tariff on cars imported into the US was 2.5%

164,857 US-made cars were exported to the EU in 2024, valuing €7.7 billion for years the import tariff on cars imported into the EU was 10%

The EU will find it very diffcult to find new markets for 749,170 cars

so for years import tariffs on cars into the EU outside of FTA agreements was 10%

and import tariffs on cars into the US outside of FTA agreements was 2.5%

Trump is lying, as usual. You are just diffusing Trump's propaganda. The U.S. was as protective as the EU, if not more. Ex. there is no Buy European Act.

Europeans are buying a lot of American brands. The main reason for the deficit is the decision by U.S. firms to outsource production. By contrast, European firms tended to outsource a significant share of production inside the EU, in Eastern European countries.

BTW, it's Trump 1.0 who trashed the TTIP deal!:coffee1:

In addition, EU does not tax US services ( finance, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, aso)

If this is added, actually there is no deficit.

However, stupid US president doesn't want to accept the quite common truth.

I'm sure he will learn or get drowned by Alzheimer.

You forgot the 25% the U.S. has been imposing on light trucks for years (this category includes the popular pickup trucks).

You are referring to the chicken tax introduced 1964 as we can see the numbers of NEW COMMERCIAL
VEHICLE (trucks and vans) AND BUS TRADE is miniscule in both numbers and trade value compared to EU car imports to USA

8,484 EU-made commercial vehicles
and buses were exported from the EU to the US in 2024, valuing €430.4 million
4,295 US-made commercial vehicles
and buses were imported into the EU in 2024, valuing €81.1 million

Pickup cars represent around 20% of the U.S. car market.

Pickup truck production in Europe to end

With the announced closure of the Nissan Navara factory in Spain and the shift of VW Amarok production from Germany to South Africa, 2020 is set to witness the death of pickup truck production in Europe.

End of production

In February 2020, Volkswagen announced that it would cease producing the Amarok at Hannover by May and moving production to South Africa, then in May, Nissan revealed it would be closing its Barcelona factory, where it produces the Navara, Renault Alaskan and Mercedes-Benz X-Class, and also moving production to South Africa.

It would appear that the EU doesn't have an European built pickup trucks to export
