They aren't acting aggressive enough, they need to take the fight to Cambodia now, surgical airstrikes around the clock would work. Also, hunt down Hun Sen and Hun Manet, eliminate them permanently.

Same could be said for the Shin family

  • You say it's "obvious" now tell us why? The way I see it is Hun Sen planned this not Thailand.

Cambodia has been at it for months already. Deploying more and more troops near the border and building bunkers and such. I cannot find the link right now but it is from some Australian bloke tracking satellite images. He is suppose to be very accurate.

.  Doubt they would be able to cobble together another coalition if clobbered by PP.  This will be a worry for the other extreme rightwing non-progressive parties.  PP is Thailand's greatest hope for the future.

Would you like a war with China, because China will intervene and protect cambodia.

Hun Sen wanted to tell the truth about the Shin family and Thaksin as he thinks he is Thailand started the problems.. Of course it is pretending that it is about border or a temple, but he admitted that he wanted to teach Hun Sen a lesson...

Nonsense. Thaksin and  Hun Sen have gotten along like 2 old time mobsters who had carved up a region.

China is close to both, they will sit on the sidelines like they are in Myanmar.

With a poorly equiped and untrained military, not all that close.

Trump and the US need to shut up. There is absolutely nothing for them to gain by interfering in this matter. No matter how much Trump is now ready to suck up to Cambodia, the Cambodians will never decrease their ties to China by even the tiniest bit. And Thailand will dance to China's tune as well. The fact is it is in US interest to stay out of this. Let Thailand get mad at China when China backs up the Cambodians--and China's naval base in Cambodia. This all is just Nobel Peace posturing by Trump, who can't even pronounce 'Thailand' correctly.

The usual tension between canon — narrative authority — and cannon — corrective force — doesn’t just play out on land, and not for foot soldiers only.
Who knows — maybe parliament will finally hurry up with that currently stalled submarine. Symbolically, today is a perfect day to start. Although — comparing the timestamps of posts, something weird may just have happened here.

Thailand should use this window of opportunity to hit Cambodian military assets hard and send a strong message to the war criminal Hun Sen and his cronies not to mess with the SEA military powerhouse, as Cambodia is no match for the Thai military.

Cambodia made a mistake targeting civilian places as that's a war crime... so Thailand is well within its right to go the whole 9 yards and take out as much Cambodian military assets as they can, and get valuable experience and data from it all. If Thailand wanted, they could easily snatch that temple and surrounding land in a ground invasion just to humiliate Hun Sen, who I dislike a lot.

However, on a different angle, this has much deep roots to consider. It seems to me that somone intentionally released that phone call on an unsecure line between the Thai PM and Hun Sen. I don't think Hun Sen released it, If I was to guess it would the the US through the PRISM system who can track any communications on earth is not securely protected, even then, they might be able to.

Think who are the losers and winners here. The casino thing and Thailand's drift towards Beijing has been interupted, Hun Sen has been humiliated, and China thought it could wade into the crisis and appear the peacemaker plus gain influence and legitimacy etc... none of which has turned out, along with China's BRI plans for Thailand and Cambodia have been set back too. It is interesting that the main Cambodian opposition leader in Thailand was the one to release the recording of that conversation. Wonder how he got it other than being given it? There is much unseen power-play and off-screen plots going off here than most realise.

It's clear who it is in Cambodia (Daddy), but not clear now in Thailand ...

Also Daddy

That may prove to be out of date. Daddy Thaksin looks to be on a slippery slope, and his daughter also. Meanwhile what power does the Acting PM have? (whose name escapes me and most Thais) ...

China is not sitting on the sidelines in Myanmar. It is singlehandedly propping up the Myanmar government.  China has significant economic interests in Myanmar. The amount of military aid that China gives to Myanmar has been  documented; At least $.267 million in weaponry. Russia too has provided $406 million in military aid  https://www.stimson.org/2025/too-little-too-late-china-steps-up-military-aid-to-myanmars-junta/

The presence of Chinese military operatives in Myanmar is not a secret. https://www.irrawaddy.com/opinion/guest-column/chinese-military-infiltrates-myanmar-in-security-guise.html

The Cambodia Thailand conflict  shares  some of the Myanmar characteristics with China invested in Cambodia. One of the main beneficiaries of regional conflict is China.   This too has been  discussed by multiple think tanks. For example, China’s Double Game in Myanmar  How Beijing Is Manipulating Civil Conflict to Secure Regional Dominance   https://www.foreignaffairs.com/china/chinas-double-game-myanmar

You are naive if you  believe that China would not intervene to secure the Cambodian regime. Thailand would not get past a border buffer area before  the Chinese airforce  neutralized much of Thailand's airforce, and Thailand's  generals are well aware of this. Thailand needs China's economic investments. China does not need Thailand except as a land buffer and as a market to buy its industrial output, and China could achieve this with another military coup.

On the contrary, China's presence has been reinforced. It was China that pressured both Cambodia and Thailand to  stop the  stupidity. It is China that has the regional clout.

@ThreeCardMonte Trump has nothing. They roundly ignored him and carried on doing what they were doing. Otherwise we wouldn't have Rubio having a go.

You are seriously 'sucking' up to Trump. It's weird.

When will you claim “The war is all Trumps fault “.

Agree, IMHO the minimum service of RTP would be to push back to border to the foothills on the Cambodian side, and that should include Preah Vihear. Proper modern fortification of the hills could then happen. Keep the border closed as long as needed.

If any Western country HAS to be at the talks in Malaysia,  it should be France. Yhey should offer to do an aerial or drone survey along the whole of Cambodia's borders using GPS and new scale maps. Then the results should be sent to Cambodia, Thailand and the UN/

After that the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand, de facto or de jure should be locked into a completely empty room with no furniture, food water or even a toilet until they BOTH accept the new borders.

I take home 7+ times that per month and am not a teacher. Wife makes money too.

How much do you get per month?
