This is still in the negotiation stage, and we all know how true the word of the US has become. 🤥

Eventually it's down to consumers. If people avoid buying US manufactured stuff, then it doesn't matter if they have or don't have market access, or whether import duties are 0 or 1000%...

The devil is in the details, and like all these 'deals' they're thin on the ground.

For instance, Thai pig farmers still don't know if US pork imports will be allowed .

Anyone sighted any signed document ? Or is this flurry of verbally announced deals just more brain fartS ?

I'm quite disappointed by Aussie and especially kiwi beef tbh.

The good stuff certainly does not come to Thailand . I am sure the top grades go to Japan and a few other select markets where people pay more . I wont buy any steak from  Australia here in Thailand

There seem to be mostly haters commenting...full of jealousy, envy, and some hatred.

BYD is outselling Tesla worldwide. Cheaper, better quality.

The only place Tesla outsells BYD is the USA, thanks to a 100% tariff on BYD vehicles.

Tesla's quality problems are long-standing. Poor paint quality, finish, electronics glitches, misaligned panels.

Americans wanting EV's get far less choice than the rest of the world.

What are you talking about? Your response has nothing to do with mine, which was about how ridiculous it is to claim that Germans won’t fly on Boeing planes.

Nice attempt at walkback, but you originally wrote that “Germans” won’t fly on Boeing planes, clearly intending to speak for Germans/Germany as a whole.

Miracle Lancome

Why not buy it in a local market for a few Baht? For one of the girls it will do.😆

(Perfumes are not the seller anywy because of possible skin irritation in connection with sweat and sun and synthetics)

It’s amazing all the people feeling triggered by reciprocal terms. You charge 19% we charge 19%. I guess it’s easy for parasites to think they are entitled?

Yes! All the crying over reciprocal trade from triggered feelings warriors!

Ok you win, some Germans may not check the aircraft type when they book. But obviously you agree with the main point of my topic, which is that US cars are total rubbish, unsuitable for the sophisticated EU drivers, or even most Democrats..

Thailand steadfastly maintained limited access for US products,

Yes. Can't have pesky foreigner competition with the local oligarchs now can we? Lots of American brands and products here - but can only be available as a 'franchise.'

"This tariff change provides a vital glimpse into the complex world of global trade relations."

And what does that mean?  I mean, what are we able to see in that vital glimpse, and what does it lend to our understanding of that complex world?

My estimation is, not much.

Switzerland just got slammed with 39% tariffs. Nobody can figure out on what mathematics this is based on. Possibly our negociators haven't been kneeling in front of Donald good enough.

Starting to understand how Donald "ticks": A successful miniature country with a higher per capita income than the US must be stifeled by all means. Just a personel thing, bare of any economic logic.

I am more concerned about the penguins. How much tariff did they get?

I hope the whole world boycotts the USA and Trump. If everyone avoids visiting the USA and

buying USA made products, maybe the American people will get tired of Trump and his policies.

People who depend on tourist dollars are already hurting, and I do feel sorry for them in their present situation.

Maybe in the mid term, the Republicans can become a minority party?

Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Honda all manufacture vehicles in Thailand.

You are posting rubbish, and not for the first time.

Mazda?  Not the Miata MX-5 RF.  Unfortunately.

Almost 3 times the cost as in the USA.

Thailand is not a developing country. It's arguably been in decline for decades. It's a kleptocracy that guards it's markets (as the vast majority of nations). A tired, relic of the 20c...

Export driven economies are getting wake up call.

The US owes nothing to export driven, product dumping countries.

Protect away lol. See where that goes. 🤷‍♂️👍

If you are here, we all hope to see where you will go ... back to Wichita hopefully, with your beloved f250.  arguably in decline for decades....lol

bye bye, enjoy your import magnet country

Trump did another TACO. He's a weak man. Thailand got a better deal than Vietnam, which gave 100 percent 0 tariffs on American imports, compared to Thailand's 90 percent, which will be the biggest part of trade. Also get a lower tariff. All this in return for Thailand buying Swedish Gripens, instead of F16s. And Trump having the rug pulled out from under him with Chinese mediation of Cambodia/Thailand skirmish. All the other stuff Thailand promises will be slow walked and delayed until Trump is out of office. And those "luxury taxes" aren't going anywhere in Thailand either. Not to mention tariffs will not go into effect today, as promised. No, it will be yet another week. Delay after delay. All "art of the deal," of course. Trump is a limp leader.

Tell us about this “weak” man.

Yeah. I have not owned an American car in decades. I avoid them.

Treating tariff's same as expats. Give me all your money, we are the center of the universe. Unfortunately Thailand is nothing special.

But does Toyota make a full size truck in Thailand?

You can get a Tundra for ฿6,790,000

According to your linked ad, that's an import.  And that's why it's $200,000 USD.  In the US, the Tundra can be had with a V8.

Wonder why Vietnam got off so lightly ?

Will Cambodia become a transshipment hub for the Chinese goods to be shipped to the US?

No. Cambodia also agreed to stop trans shipment of Chinese goods as part of their trade agreement. Recent news says they're even going to nominate Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in ending the border conflict with Thailand. I would love to know what the real reason was for that absurd escalation in the border skirmish. But apparently, it has all been resolved amicably, with both Thailand and Cambodia agreeing to crack down on Chinese goods in exchange for lower tariffs on domestically produced products.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I suspect Cambodia was made an offer they couldn't refuse.
