Police Commissioner: Minister Tried to Silence Me Over Riots

Police Commissioner Claims Minister Tried to Silence Her Over Riots and Immigration Link

A senior police figure has alleged that a government minister pressured her to retract a statement linking last summer’s riots to mass immigration. Donna Jones, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, says the intervention came shortly after she publicly suggested that “mass uncontrolled immigration” was among the causes of the unrest following the Southport attacks.

Jones said she received a call from a newly appointed minister, whose identity she chose not to reveal. According to her, the minister insisted: “You and I both know this has nothing to do with immigration,” and urged her to take down her statement. She refused, telling the minister they were wrong.

“Last summer I issued a statement urging the government to address the root causes of why people are protesting,” Jones said. “After I put my statement out, on the same day, a Labour government minister called me and asked me to retract my statement saying it was misleading the public and causing community tensions. I told them that they were wrong and it was absolutely why people were protesting.”

The commissioner warned that unless the government addresses the issue of immigration more decisively, the UK could see a deterioration in law and order. “Those are not scenes we ever want to see again,” she said. “These protests will continue to happen unless the government takes serious and tangible action to stop the flow of immigration into the UK.”

Jones also expressed concern over the frequency of anti-migrant demonstrations and their potential to escalate. “With more protests planned for August, and no sign of an imminent solution from the home secretary or the prime minister, I fear parts of the country risk falling into a state of lawlessness,” she said. “People continue to be concerned about the number of people arriving on our shores daily and the impact this is having on local services. Community stability is a valid concern. And those who are not concerned are rightly anxious about the unrest on their streets. This won’t stop until people’s fears are addressed.”

In addition to concerns over community unrest, she warned that the police are at breaking point. “Policing is stretched to the limit,” she said, noting that forces are expected to maintain public order, meet neighbourhood policing targets and cut knife crime and violence against women and girls — all at once.

Jones, who is also the Conservative candidate for mayor of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, made her original remarks while chair of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. Her comments were met with strong criticism, including from former chief crown prosecutor Nazir Afzal, who called them “totally unacceptable” and said she appeared to be “justifying rioting and criminality that police officers are bravely having to deal with right now.”

In response to the backlash, Jones issued a second statement, reiterating her support for the police and condemning illegal behaviour, but she refused to withdraw her original claims. “While I do not justify any violence, there is value in understanding the views of those attending rallies who feel strongly but don’t cause disorder,” she said. “I’ve spoken to people from both sides of the spectrum and the only way to stem the tide of violent disorder is to acknowledge what is causing it.”

She also reported that protests had been consistently taking place in her region, including three in one weekend and a continuous weekly protest at a hotel in Portsmouth housing migrants since last summer.

The Home Office has been contacted for comment.

Wow. Amazing.

Not only a good British cop, but one prepared to speak the truth, one prepared to speak out against the pathetic lying Labour government.

If only we had more.

Was the Minister, none other than the Home Secretary? Who yesterday really showed up how ignorant, stupid, and utterly out of her depth she is.

The increase in Illegal Channel crossers, according to her were down to two things.

French Maritime Laws and ramming more and more illegals into the dinghies.

Anyone with a cursory knowledge of Maritime Laws knows that they are breaking French Laws as soon as the boats enter the water in France, and are breaking UK Laws as soon as they enter UK waters.

The Chief Constable dealing with Southport was also gagged and resigned / retired over it

I laughed the other day when the new idea was broached to make it a criminal offense to overload a rubber boat,

Surely the boat load of illegal immigrants is already illegal enough to warrant a criminal charge or is it only illegal if I have 2 more passengers than the boats capacity,

As ever they continue to confuse me with their foolish ideas

Yeah they want to look like they are doing something without actually doing anything.

Hence creating new laws to cover things that are already illegal, and which still won't be enforced.

A Senior police officer in Nuneaton told the local MP not to publish the names and Nationalities of the two Afgahns who raped a 14 yr old girl citing it could raise tensions in the area. Never mind a child was raped just don't name them. Another case in Yorkshire a few years ago a police inspector was looking into Grooming gangs and was told by his superiors to drop it.

Under section 24 (B1) of the Immigration Act 1971, a person who a) requires leave to enter the United Kingdom and, b) knowingly enters the UK without such leave, commits an offence which is triable both ways.

A person who commits this offence, on summary conviction in England and Wales, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or a fine, or both. On summary conviction in Scotland, that person is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum, or both. In Northern Ireland, the maximum sentence on summary conviction is 6 months imprisonment, or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum, or both.

For conviction on indictment, that person is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 4 years or a fine, or both.

However, most cases are normally managed using administrative powers to consider whether it is right to remove a person from the UK, except where there are aggravating or egregious factors that mean it is in the public interest that the individual should be prosecuted.

Of course, this is irrelevant to her accusations. Not political in the least. All absolutely honest.

Jones, the Tory mayoral candidate for Hampshire and IOW says that the Southport riots erupted because of immigration.

Well, they weren’t until Farridge stirred things up by saying that he was “just asking questions “ about the immigration status of the murderer of those poor little girls. Rumors abounded that the murderer had arrived the previous week on a small boat.

The truth is that the murderer was a British citizen born and bred.

When challenged for a credible source for these rumors ,Farridge said “ Andrew Tate (Tait?)”.
This was all the knuckle dragging, far right thugs needed.

Hence, the ensuing mayhem became known as the “ Farridge riots”.
