Again, I will not be doing any of this......but that does not negate the fact that you are supposed to or "have to"......to comply with Thai tax laws

Yes. The crux of the matter is who officially decides what is assessable. How thailand implements or enforces the 180 day tax resident thing has a lot of ifs.
