At least ten people were injured when a staff shuttle bus ploughed into the rear of a parked lorry in Lopburi province on the afternoon of 27 August.

The crash occurred at around 13.35 along Phahonyothin Road between kilometre markers 181–182 in Huai Pong, Khok Samrong district. Police investigator Pol Lt Phusit Muangmu of Khok Samrong Police Station, together with rescue teams, rushed to the scene.

They found a company bus, used to transport workers to their shift, wedged into the back of a six-wheel truck. Both vehicles had pushed off the road into a ditch, by the force of the impact. More than ten passengers on board the bus sustained injuries and were taken to hospital by emergency responders.

The lorry driver, Mr Chatri, 42, told police he had parked the truck at the roadside to relieve himself. Moments later, the bus slammed into the rear of his vehicle, sending both vehicles off the road.

Passengers on the bus described panic and screams as the impact threw them from their seats. Several were treated for cuts and bruises, while others suffered more serious injuries and broken bones.

Police are investigating the incident and took the drivers in for questioning.
