August 29, 2025Aug 29 Dear Folks, I doubt one can get USA pork for roasting in an oven here in Thailand. But, maybe USA pork is not the best, anyway...and I have no clue about comparative quality. So then, what is the best? Might it be imported from Australia? There is nothing worse than a tough roast of pork. One would rather not even try to roast one, if it meant tough meat. There is no Costco in Thailand.... So then what? Tks. Note: When I checked last, I think I saw pork loin for about Bt.150 per kg
August 29, 2025Aug 29 I only buy meat from Makro, as it's all pretty much the same (from chain stores), unless going high end. When roasting, you don't need to. Although I'd recommend a pork tenderloin over loin. Guaranteed tender, unless you screw it up Oh yea, don't forget to tuck the thin end under, for even cooking. No need for overpriced imported pork. Beef, maybe, and I only buy Harvey brand (imported) at Makro for beef. Pork & chicken, and local is fine, but not from fresh/wet market, as may be anything but fresh. They're small, but tasty when done right ... From previous posts ...
